How many months of emergency fund should you set aside?

12 months so you have more options.

6 months if lose job need to start looking immediately.

Monthly spending... Usually jobless you don't spend that much... Base on expenses... Got few years... Inside ssb and tbill
But this fund should be in very liquid form…
but liquid form means it will lose its value drastically due to inflation.

i set aside 1 year annual salary amt
cannot touch. can only put into short term bonds or FD

6 months if you are young in 20s and starting your career.
12 months if you are in 30s.
24 months if you are in 40s or 50s with dependents (children and parents).

Ya tbill and ssb... Not liquid enough... Redeem ssb quite fast... The moment you jobless, next day you go into financial hardship? Cannot be right? You still got one month of salary and package if you are lucky...
