How many months of emergency fund should you set aside?

Last time I was told 2 years of monthly expenses

then the rest of the money are for investment, huge expenses and others

monthly spending or monthly salary should be used to calculate ?
Usually expenses, but salary is safer. Why? Suppose u tio pok, u want to be able to continue funding your expenses w/o any changes. The extra, maybe buy a bike for Grab or whatever lor.

As for mths, depends on ur age, industry(how difficult to find equivalent paying job), if ur dependents can take a hit on their lifestyle? u never know if ur next job is paying lesser?

About 12 months for me including fixed deposits. Balance into investment.

I have around 60 months worth of monthly income in my accounts to reap maximum interest from UOB One and Stash. Not counting Tbills, FD and other investments as they are not as liquid.
