We may think 500K not alot but once we got that windfall, our perception of money value will literally dropped.

Thousands of dollars may seemed to be few hundred dollars.

500K is really a good capital amount to start a dream, but not to spend that capital away

I won almost $1.5m from Toto last year. After giving parents, wife, clear debts and some donations, left around $1m. Bought some luxury watches to keep and went on nice 2 week holiday. Now see old uncle/auntie selling tissue I will buy from them.

I'm hardcore gambler, to be honest lost no less than $100k over last 7-8 years. Seriously, perception of money really change. Initial few months still hand itchy, can place bets up to $20k. 4D $4-500. Tell myself I won't have this kind of luck to tio another time so better wake up my idea. Now money all safely put in various FD collect interest. I wanna collect back all the interest i paid to banks last time

Is it?

Who were last year's winners? Or any famous winners you can name?
Let me help u rephrase your understanding, u don't know because the winning field don't concern you. If it did, your social circle will be all over it. Of course if you are a frog in the well, none of the winners throughout the history will get to you.

Actually it’s normal these days. If you know how to make use of money to work harder, you will gain more than spending it on what you wish your lifestyle to be.

If I given that chance, I would rather give some part to charity, some to parents and the rest save to work harder for me. More on low risk fix deposits haha don’t need to go for any kind of risk.

Not just that, still will work not quit but slow down than fighting with peers on ranking etc

SG don't even publicize who won the big prizes.

So do you know anyone who won personally or within your social circle?

I don't know anyone in my social circle. So that makes me a frog in the well?

In Canada the winners are all publicly named. It is part of the agreement.

Same for my hubby Gugu ...ah ma left a huge sum of inheritance in 2007 (at least $1m cash ) to Gugu. She is super addicted to jackpot in cruises. Lost all money even till today she still kanan " free trips " Genting cruise every now n then. Since it's "free" she will go.

Just talked to my mil about free cruises..Gugu still has 19+ free bookings lor. My mil said it free, only pay tax n etc $100+, meals all included. Worth lor but she is ok to gamble $200-300 for each trip. She even dared to say she never always lost lor. But I told her overall she is still a loser

Winning $500k just means I retire 5 years earlier

Perhaps people need to go through a test to calculate their own lifetime income and current cost of living before they are allowed to collect lottery winnings and vote.

each cruise trip last how many days?

200-300 seems little, likely she under-declare so as not to paint herself as an compulsive gambler
