Man Utd now becoming a selling club under Ratcliffe. Promote young players from the academy to the 1st team. After 1 or 2 yrs try to sell them. Need to promote them & build the team around them if they are good. Did Ferguson try to sell Giggs or Scholes? They retired at Man Utd. Did Arsenal try to sell Odegaard or Saka? Did Man City try to sell Rodrigo or Foden? Top teams don't sell their good players.

Harry Maguire has impressed Ruben Amorim so much that he is even ready to abandon a £70m deal.

But Maguire’s extended deal has alleviated the need for a ready-made centre-back in the summer. United look set to head into next season with Maguire, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez.

As per the Mail, Red Devils chiefs will now target a younger defender with potential to grow to add to their options instead of an expensive addition. Amorim has remained a fan of Maguire since his arrival in Manchester.

This summer Man Utd will still need to sign 1 or 2 centre backs. 3 centre backs as 1st choice & another 3 centre backs as back up. Can sign 1 centre back if able to promote a youth player as centre back or Mazraoui cover as centre back. Maguire will be short term because the most he can last will be 2 or 3 yrs.

Maguire has taken so many hits since his record-breaking move to Manchester United from Leicester City in August 2019. Most players would have stayed down in the face of seemingly endless setbacks and vitriol, or at the very least accepted that they are not cut out for the intensity and pressure of football at the highest level.

But that has never been an option for Maguire. Against all the odds, he's kept moving forward, backing himself through the darkest periods to eventually emerge on the other side as a true winner. Maguire has silenced his critics, and is now playing a leading role in an exciting revolution under Ruben Amorim. It's been a long road, but United's unbreakable £80 million ($96m) man is finally living up to his price tag.

Each time Maguire had a set back or injury that caused him to miss games he seemed to be able to return stronger. Takes lots of determination.

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho may not be heading to Napoli after all.

Reports were widespread that the Argentine was inching close to a move to the Serie A club but now a report from the Daily Mail has put paid to that idea.

The outlet has stressed that it’s believed the speculation is agent-driven. They also say that club are unlikely to entertain offers for the player this month unless a huge bid comes in.

Reports suggested that Napoli submitted a £40 million opening bid for Garnacho, but this was not sufficient for the club to let him leave.

The Argentinian international is still only 20 and is under contract until 2028.

Maguire performance in the last 3 mths of 2023...........
Credits shld be given when due.

Either he woke up late in his MU career or #10 had said sth to him during that period..

but he was definitely a much better player since late 2023.

Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford has been told Sir Alex Ferguson would not have stood for his recent behaviour and would have ‘booted him out’ as soon as possible.

Former United striker Teddy Sheringham has now ripped into Rashford for asking to leave his boyhood club and claimed Old Trafford icon Ferguson would have sold him immediately.

When asked which club Rashford could join to get his career back on track, Sheringham replied (via the MEN): “I don’t know and I don’t care, really. I think the way he’s come out and said that ‘he’s ready for a new challenge’ is beyond me.

“You used to get foreigners coming into England saying that sort of thing and people think, ‘yeah, okay’. However, when it’s one of your own from Manchester; a Manchester boy that should understand the privilege it is to play for Manchester United and where you’re at when you’re playing for Manchester United.

“Every player in the world growing up still wants to play for Manchester United and he’s saying now that he wants a new challenge somewhere. I don’t understand it.

“Fergie would’ve booted him out the door by now if he’d have said that while he was in his tenure. He’s obviously going to go somewhere, but I think his days are numbered at Man Utd.”

Those managers (Mourinho, Solskjaer & Ten Hag) that didn't get rid of him ended up getting sacked.

The Jadon Sancho transfer saga will haunt Manchester United and the fans. It was a painful experience, with the Red Devils locked in on a big name target at a big price.

Eventually they got their man, and it turned out to be a complete waste of time, with Sancho going down as one of the club’s worst ever signings.

The best signings are often the low-key ones. Late in 2020, United pivoted and took a chance on Amad Diallo – who has gone onto become a first team star, outlasting Sancho, and earning a new contract to 2030.

United now have their sights set on another unheralded gem, who could follow the Sancho path to success, and this is a much smarter way to operate.

Manchester United are pursuing Red Bull Salzburg talent Dorgeles Nene, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Nene, 22, plays for Red Bull Salzburg in Austria and is an attacking player, one who is being ‘monitored’ by the club, ahead of a possible January or summer move.

While Dorgeles Nene is inspired by two big names, his grounding at Red Bull Salzburg is training him up in a way that could make him a ready-made fit for Ruben Amorim’s work-hard approach.

Explaining his task after returning from a loan in Belgium in 2023, he commented: “Our style of play here is extremely intense, we chase the opponent in their own half – I still have to get used to it.”

He went on to add: “Our pressing style of play suits me in general.”

The past 18 months since Nene has been gaining experience at Salzburg, and if he were to sign for Manchester United, he would arrive as a player with hard work and pressing ingrained into his psyche, ready to contribute.

The owner have a final say in selling players...it is not like SAF time where he got a final say in selling and buying players.

Manchester United have put the brakes on Toby Collyer’s planned departure this month amid claims the midfielder is now set for a major role in the side under Ruben Amorim – but his more prominent role spells more bad news for two other Red Devils stars.

And in explaining Amorim’s U-turn over Collyer, The Athletic now claims he is set for a more prominent role in Amorim’s midfield over the remainder of the season – and his increased minutes could spell bad news for Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.

Speaking after the game, Amorim was certainly impressed with the 21-year-old.

“It was really important because [it] gives us more strength, and then with less one player, he’s really hard to press,” Amorim, who was well known for promoting youth at Sporting CP, stated.

https://www.teamtalk.com/manchester...u-turn-exit-vetoed-star-backed-prominent-role

Every season promote 2 or 3 youth players to the 1st team.

Tottenham have made a ‘concrete’ move to sign Manchester United winger, Alejandro Garnacho, with a remarkable report claiming Spurs are planning a bid that United will find too good to refuse.

It’s claimed Spurs have ‘lodged a concrete enquiry’ into Garnacho’s signing. It’s then stated ‘sources close to the club have revealed that the north London outfit may be prepared to test United’s resolve with a bid in the region of €70m/£60m.’

A bid of that size – if accepted – would place Garnacho second in Tottenham’s list of most expensive signings. Dominic Solanke (£65m including add-ons) currently holds top spot.

As such, FootballTransfers concluded a £60m bid is ‘believed to be enough to tempt the Red Devils into selling’ Garnacho this month.

https://www.teamtalk.com/news/tottenham-launch-spectacular-man-utd-raid-60m-bid-expected-succeed

Don't sell Garnacho to Tottenham. Man Utd will regret it if Tottenham consistently make it to the top 4 in future & Man Utd failed to make it to the top 4 due to Garnacho scoring & assisting goals for Tottenham. Garnacho will not be a world class player if he goes to Tottenham or Napoli because these 2 teams will not likely win the Champions League. He should go to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich if he wants to be a world class player.
