Hi gurus, for the boost pocket, if amount was placed sometime in Jan, and indicated that this amount will matured in Apr at 3.18%.

But with the new change, from 11 Feb onwards, the rate decreases to 2.98%. Does it mean after 11 Feb, this amount will only be calculated as 2.98%? Or because amount was placed before 11 Feb, and hence the amount will still enjoy 3.18% till Apr?

Read the terms and condition but still feeling confused/uncertain.

The boost pocket should be like FD, so the rate is locked in.

the 3.18 is actually 2.38 + 0.8. Only the 0.8 is promised will be my guess. 2.38 will fluctuate with the main account rate. The current 2.38 is paid out daily and can be withdrawn any time.

Nobody should post your own guess here, as everything is in the tnc, the most trusted source!

Here is the tnc from the website:

"The interest rates for your existing Boost Pockets remain locked for the placement period. If your Boost Pocket is set to auto-renew, the new prevailing interest rates at the time of maturity will apply upon renewal.

If your Boost Pocket is not set to auto-renew, your Boost Pocket funds will then be moved to the Main Account of your GXS Savings Account upon maturity. The Boost Pocket will then be closed."

Everything is in the tnc. Why not read it?

Here:

The Boost Pocket offers a bonus interest on top of base interest rate. Here are the rates offered for the respective tenures:

Base: 2.38% p.a.

Bonus:

  • 1 month - 0.4% p.a.
  • 3 months - 0.6% p.a.
As such, your Boost Pockets can earn:

  • 1 month - 2.78% p.a.
  • 3 months - 2.98% p.a.
Best of all, the Boost Pocket interest rate remains locked in for the whole of the tenure!"

Go look for the rest of the tnc.

I share this: Base interest is guaranteed, Bonus Interest will be forfeited for early withdrawal!

it's not a straight 4.3%. it's a cash reward on top of the boost pocket interest

Someone replied to OP:
"Seems like this is a recent issue encountered by a few people I know. They just did a mass purge I believe. For whatever reason."

There was one person whose account got closed. How did that person come to the conclusion of a mass purge?
