Anyone facing like very short momentary connection loss at late hours of the night / wee hours of the morning? I have experienced this on:

29 Jan 0029-0031hrs (2 mins)
29 Jan 2029-2030hrs (1 min)
29 Jan 2359-0000hrs (1 min)
30 Jan 2337-2338 (1 min)
31 Jan 0545-0546 (1 min)
31 Jan 2247-2248 (1 min)
1 Feb 2336-2337 (1 min)
2 Feb 2233-2234 (1 min)
4 Feb 0424-0425 (1 min)
5 Feb 0037-0038 (1 min)

Is this normal? I did not experience this with MR in my previous two homes. Only happened in my current home. (same router throughout 3x XT8) Full log: https://jumpshare.com/s/oG1phFRzG1S0mjY8TQdA

Edit: ONT replacement resolved the issue.

your WAN port keeps flapping, it sounds a lot more likely that you have a potentially bad Ethernet cable

Placed first in overall connectivity score? I recall seeing many ppl posting about connection issues with MR. So is it user problem or this score is BS?

I mean, it's from Ookla (speedtest.net), so I guess you should be arriving at the conclusion that it's good when it's up

though IME I haven't really had issues with MyRepublic

Hi, anyone got the 10Gbps gamer plan and opted for the BE805 router?

I'm just wondering if a single wifi 7 router can cover my entire 4rm flat if placed in this position marked in red.

Depends on what you are trying to achieve. Surf net only? Some rooms not important to have very fast internet like the Main bedroom?

Moving to a more central location might be better

However be ready to invest further cos u might encounter interference, dead spots.

Crossing fingers that the change in cables work. MR has been solid for me for 2+ years.

Since the disconnects are 1-3x per day max a min or two, will give it 72 hours before reporting back.
Unfortunately same thing occurred after cable swapped. Similar 1 min disconnect and also during late hours. And at roughly 1x per 24hrs.

In my main bedroom, probably just scrolling tiktok and watching youtube on phone. Desktop for work and gaming is in Bedroom 3. I would also like to cover the whole house including service yard for my IoT like smart light switches, robot vacuum etc.

Your chosen location should benefit bedroom 3 which will use more bandwidth due to gaming and work

Main bedroom might have issues since its 2 walls away

IoT connect to 2.4Ghz should be OK

If you want, do it your way see if main bedroom any issues,

If have issues then grab another TP link device that has their EasyMesh feature, then link it to the BE805 and put it in Bedroom 2

Otherwise scrap the BE805 idea, go for mesh solution outright get something with 2 nodes and above.

That’s my point. I see a lot of posts KPKB here and find it ironic MR came in first for connectivity.

He means that people only kpkb when got problem. So you will always see kpkb here for problems and not suddenly come sing praises. Unless eat too full or got vested interest

Well it can be Number 1 in the world but if give you problem it will mean nothing to you

So take it like a pinch of salt. If existing provider dont give u problem, price OK then just stick around

I know what he meant but some ppl also post positive remarks (in other ISP threads). Those seem to be lacking here so naturally someone looking to jump ship is concerned.

Their BE25000 bundle is tempting but not gonna risk connection issues & being tied to a 2 year contract.

Plus i notice MR’s tech support is not 7 days 24 hours so lagi worse if got connection issues. And seems one can only call or use their app’s live chat.

If M1’s app live chat is anything to go by then GG with MR. At least Singtel & Starhub have WhatsApp and having contacted both via WA before i can say the response time is still acceptable.

No dealing with act smart bots on livechat that refuse to transfer you to a human. Or waiting forever for someone to answer the phone.

And again for about a min. Same wee hours of the night/morning and 1x per 24 hours. I've sent this on to MR.

TBF MR's customer support has been good. Don't have to wait long for call to be picked up. They are knowledgeable (relative to others), friendly and they do check back, It is a pity this small issue keeps popping up.

One min disconnect once per day is technically no biggie. But it does kill an online match whether gaming or watching live sports.

all I can say is that one of your Ethernet ports (the WAN port, by the looks of it) is going up and down somewhat frequently, and the corresponding WAN up/down events are likely only triggering when your router's connectivity checker (?) happens to be checking at the same time as your port being down

can't say for sure whether that's due to a hardware (ONT/router/cable) problem, or due to the ONT bringing the physical link up and down due to GPON reconfiguration, so perhaps you could also try isolating the problem to one of those things?

e.g. if the Ethernet link drops one or twice a minute in your logs, try plugging a computer in directly to the ONT and seeing if the same thing happens, and also router <> computer on eth0, etc

MR's technical hotline is available 24/7 though?
