Lawrence...we need to talk.

Can we first talk about nuclear waste disposal before jumping the gun to build the nuclear reactors..

Nuclear energy is a very touchy subject. Is nuclear energy truly clean when the by-product are dangerous radioactive elements?

I wish people would stop marketing nuclear as "clean energy" already. Wait for Fusion ok?

There was a time when Asbestos was marketing as the wonder material.
u talk to lawrence not enough
u need talk to malaysia and indonesia also
we have the highest priority to have nuclear reactors as the only thing singapore has is me and no natural resources
and it is also we singapore who have the capacity to manage nuclear waste properly. so u should trust our lawrence
i cannot say the same for malaysia and indonesia maybe u need to talk to them instead

Crazy to even think such a bloody small island requires so much energy.

There really isn't a need for such high density
We need energy, for example your water partly comes from sea desalination.

Need nuclear energy to distill sea water.
This is what it is all about.
2062 water contract expires.

Where are they going to build? Best to build at Tuas for this
I vote for Bukit Timah, very centralised so will be efficient in electricity supply.

Confirm will get a lot a lot of feedback on the negatives of nuclear energy.

Not if we decide to go green or attract more AI data centers. :s13:

Fusion is snake oil imo.

Will take forever to come to reality.

If it's fusion reactors then no issues. It will not go chibaboom.

If fission reactors then good luck. With the way our generals run and maintain public infrastructure... Well you get the story.
There are currently no fully operational commercial fusion reactors. The technology is still in development, and while significant progress has been made, practical fusion power remains a long-term goal.

My suggestion is a theoretical scenario, not real life. I also know a functioning fusion reactor that outputs more power than it consumes don't exist yet.

To support Singapore’s transition to cleaner energy, Budget 2025 includes a S$5 billion top-up for the Future Energy Fund, aimed at investing in sustainable energy infrastructure.
Nice, I will want to lead and head this Future Energy Fund as their Group Director with the S$5 billion dollar 💵 top up to develop sustainable energy infrastructure in Singapore 🇸🇬
