Have to lah. Consider that Indonesia can cut off her LNG supply to us anytime and to meet the future demands of EV vehicles, data centres, AI etc. We also cannot be choked by those western oil giants mah if they threaten to move out or close down

Nuclear energy is not affected by the sun, wind, rain and tide

Electricity will become very very cheap for SG.

Making SG even richer in the future.

Really envy SG. Got foresight make good decisions for the future to ensure the economy remains strong, SGD strong, more high paying jobs.

This will make SG a very attractive place for Data Centres that need a lot of electricity.
too late.. many already shifted to malaysia.

plus singapore rental and space very expensive....

Lawrence...we need to talk.

Can we first talk about nuclear waste disposal before jumping the gun to build the nuclear reactors..

Nuclear energy is a very touchy subject. Is nuclear energy truly clean when the by-product are dangerous radioactive elements?

I wish people would stop marketing nuclear as "clean energy" already. Wait for Fusion ok?

There was a time when Asbestos was marketing as the wonder material.

If it's fusion reactors then no issues. It will not go chibaboom.

If fission reactors then good luck. With the way our generals run and maintain public infrastructure... Well you get the story.
Tiagong our neighbours also want nuclear power

Their record of maintaining infrastructure lagi worse

Crazy to even think such a bloody small island requires so much energy.

There really isn't a need for such high density
every 1km got so many traffic lights

sheltered walkway also need lights.

then crazy people turned on 16 deg 24/7 at their house causing serious condensation to neighbours..

all think for themselves..

The reactor designs being studied might actually involve embedding a compact nuclear reactor close to where power is desired. A datacenter cluster or desalination plant literally might have an SMR installed in the basement.

Singapore already pour in so much money over the past years and is now investing heavily again. It's certain this is coming.

Nothing comes without a cost, pretty sure other countries will be charging a premium price in Sinkipoo for letting us use their nuclear waste disposal facilities too.
