Is 5053mbps download and 2293mbps upload on Speedtest normal?

10G wired on BE805

Probably normal, depends on your wired device (eg: network adapter, CPU and OS version). Windows can be a bit tricky especially with Marvell chipset based 10G network card (like popular USB4/TB4/TB3 based 10G NICs, TP-Link TX401 and Asus XG-C100C). 3rd party Antivirus programms can also slow down the speed. macOS and Linux may be better if you use those network adapters.

What is the Typical Maximum Local Download Speed of SIMBA 10Gbps Broadband?

  • Updated
The Typical Maximum Local Download Speed of our 10Gbps Broadband plan is between 6.5Gbps to 8.1Gbps.

This typical local download speed range is the general speed you will likely experience using a direct wired LAN connection to the ONT. A CAT 6 cable (or better) and a computer capable of saturating a 10Gbps ethernet port is required to achieve the typical speed for a 10Gbps plan.

The typical local download speeds above were obtained throughout the day from a sampling of users who have purchased the Eero Max 7 router from us in September to early October 2024. The Eero router provides statistics of bandwidth utilization and maximum speeds achieved based on real traffic towards speed test servers located locally.

As different speed test sites may have different configurations and test conditions, we recommend that you use Ookla’s speed test pointing to SIMBA Telecom when doing your own wired speed test.

Tested on Simba server - 8193mbps download and 8038mbps upload.

On 10G wired Marvell. Is the LAN card bottlenecking the BE805?

This result is very good --> 8193mbps download and 8038mbps upload. XGS-PON technology usually limit the speed to 8.2x Gbps -- all ISPs' 10Gbps plan will be limited by this.

What is the difference in terms of setup for this test versus previous test where you got 5053mbps download and 2293mbps upload?

I used Simba server for this test. If use other servers the result is about 5-6000mbps.

Is there anything I can do to reach 10G or 8.2G is the max for all ISP plans?

No way with single XGS-PON based 10Gbps Fibre Internet plan.

You can of course use a router which supports Dual WAN Load Balancing and then subscribe to two ISP plans to break the 8.2x Gbps barrier.

Is Intel BE200 the only way to get 8G wireless speeds on BE805? There are not many Wifi 7 adapters available at the moment.

You will never get 8Gbps wireless speed with any WiFi 7 adapters. The best WiFi 7 download speed reported in this forum is 4.911Gbps, using Oppo Find X8 Pro and Archer BE805, at close range. You can also find the list of the best WiFi 7 adpaters from the following thread --> Intel BE200 chipset based (mainly for Intel platform, most cost effective), Qualcomm QCNCM865 based (works with both Intel and AMD platform) and Mediatek MT7927 based (still rare, works with both Intel and AMD platform).
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/wifi-7-device-speedtest-and-wifi-7-adapters.7048233/

For TP-Link Archer BE805 and Intel BE200, my best result is about 3.557Gbps at 50cm close range, more mearningful result at about 3m distance is up to 2.772Gbps.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...speedtest-and-wifi-7-adapters.7048233/page-10

@xiaofan can check with you currently my motherboard using the AX210NGW WiFi 6E and if I replaced with the Intel BE200 WiFi 7 M.2 card, will I able to get up to 5Gbps speed connecting to the TP-Link Archer BE805 (ISP M1 6Gbps plan)

I do not think so. My best WiFi 7 speed achieved with Intel BE200 based WiFi 7 adapter is at 3.56Gbps at very close range (50cm) from the laptop (Acer Swift Go 14 2024 model with Intel Core Ultra 125H CPU, Intel Killer WiFi 7 BE1750 adapter based on Intel BE200 chipset) to the Archer BE805 router. Please refer to Post #189 in this page.

Thanks. It seems that there is no device that can hit the theoretical 11520mbps maximum on the BE805 6 GHz band?

Thanks. It seems that there is no device that can hit the theoretical 11520mbps maximum on the BE805 6 GHz band?

1) Not even half of it. There is a barrier at about 4.5Gbps on the 6Ghz band. MLO speed may be a bit higher with the right device (Mediatek Dimensity 9400 based Android phone) with the barrier at about 5Gbps as of now.

You have to understand that WiFi 6/6E/7 devices are only 2x2, even though the router itself is 4x4.

Archer BE805 WiFi spec at BE19000
• 6 GHz: 11520 Mbps (4x4 802.11be, 320Mhz channel bandwidth, 4096 QAM)
• 5 GHz: 5760 Mbps (4x4 802.11be, 160 Mhz channel bandwidth, 4096 QAM)
• 2.4 GHz: 1376 Mbps (4x4 802.11be, 40 Mhz channel bandwidth, 4096 QAM)

Good WiFi 7 device with 320MHz channel bandwidth support
• 6 GHz: 5760 Mbps (2x2 802.11be, 320Mhz channel bandwidth, 4096 QAM)
• 5 GHz: 2880 Mbps (2x2 802.11be, 160 Mhz channel bandwidth, 4096 QAM)
• 2.4 GHz: 688 Mbps (2x2 802.11be, 40 Mhz channel bandwidth, 4096 QAM)

All the above speed mentioned are PHY Link Speed, real world speed is up to 70% to 80% of the PHY connection speed at best-case scenario.

2) But if you use two Archer BE805 with wireless backhaul, you may get passed 5Gbps barrier.

ONT --> Archer BE805 main router -- wireless backhaul --> Archer BE805 mesh node

Archer BE805 mesh node 10G LAN port (I believe the 10G WAN port will also work as LAN port in this case) --> your 10G capable wired device.

In this case, the two Archer BE805 may be able to connect at 11520 Mbps speed and you may be able to get >5Gbps from the 10G wired device (say 6Gbps or higher), if the distance is not that far.

When using MLO WiFi on my iPhone 14 Pro Max, I'm always getting prompt that Private Relay is not compatible with MLO.. Is this expected or is there some settings that can be manipulated anywhere to make them work together? Using Archer GE800. TIA ヅ

Why do you need this on your own WIFI though?

Simba now offers DLink Wifi7 router for top up

Nice one.

It is good that D-Link comes out WiFi 7 router for local market as well. But it seems to me this is more geared toward service providers and not consumers -- you can see spec like TR-069.

I do not see it in the main consumer site.
https://www.dlink.com.sg/product-category/products/networking/wifi-routers/

D-Link DPN-BE7212GR BE7200 dual band WiFi 7 router spec:
https://www.dlink.com.sg/product/be7200-dual-band-wi-fi-7-10g-mesh-router/#nf_specs

S$179 is not a bad price for the spec. But then Starhub issued TP-Link HB710 at S$192 (dual 10G ports, triband BE18000, quad core IPQ5322 CPU, 1GB RAM) is more worth though, unless you need the extra four 1G LAN ports in the D-Link DPN-BE7212GR.

For example: 1.2GHz dual core CPU, 512MB RAM, dual band BE7200.
Only thing better than HB710 is that it has four 1G LAN ports.

Huh? You do surf out using your own WiFi, don't you? iCloud Private Relay is a privacy feature from Apple that helps protect your online activity when browsing the web in Safari. It works by hiding your IP address and encrypting your internet traffic, making it harder for websites and advertisers to track you.

I have yet to change my router. But just to share I'm using Asus XT8.
I was using Starhub 1mbps subscription.
When I tested using Speedtest to Starhub was 500mbps on average.

I switched to simba 10mbps. I did the same test and on average I get 250mpbs only.

Both test are done on wifi with my phone on top of the XT8.

Rather disappointed.

For some reason, mine doesn't work. I am contacting support
I'm having the same issues, only can see the mobile account and nothing on broadband on the Simba website.
I have a new account with Simba, it is only for a new 10G home fibre plan. If you already have Simba mobile, then I am not sure if it makes a difference.

One day after the remote activation by NLT, I clicked "forgot password", and received the reset link via email.
In the web form asking for username & fill new password twice, the username field has to be filled with the "Service ID" which is a long numeric beginning with 21... (email address does not work as the username.)

Ooh.. M1 came out with 6Gbps deal of 34.90/m

HomePac 6Gbps

$34.90/mth
This plan comes with:

  • $34.90/mth only applicable for new sign up
  • For recontracting customers it will be $47.90/mth (U.P. $95/mth)
  • 24 mths HomePac 6Gbps
  • Choose 1 for free:
  • TP-Link Archer BE805 (worth $799)
  • Or top up $12/mth for ASUS ZenWiFi BT10 (pack of 2, worth $1,299).
  • Note: Final discounts for router, where applicable, will be calculated at checkout. While stocks last.
  • Free registration (worth $61.04)
  • Free ONT Activation for all time slots (worth up to $123.41)
  • Free Home Fixed Voice Service
  • Free 24 mths Mobile Broadband (Bespoke SurfValue)
  • Note: If you plan to move your address by June 2025, we recommend signing up for our 1Gbps or 2.5Gbps plans.
Trying hard to woo new sign ups... but then so discriminating against existing customers again... why all ISPs like that.
