Meanwhile, a 56-year-old scientist from China was among those nabbed in a separate Feb 15 raid at an e-waste factory in Sungai Siput, Perak, said Comm Azmi.

“He had been working for about a year and is capable of analysing particles of e-waste materials for conversion into gold, bronze, copper and aluminium.

“He is also capable of analysing the air, water and humidity quality and quantity during the dismantling of e-waste materials.

“The suspect has been remanded until March 1,” he said.

this is well established science. xray fluorescence is used for determining elemental composition of scrap metals

They recycled e-waste in the most cost-effective way possible to extract the raw materials.

In doing so, they harmfully pollute the environment using unsanctioned methods.

What these companies could have typically done, is using copious amount of chemical mixes to break down gold and copper. They would then dispose of the toxic sludge remnants into local water sources, endangering flora, fauna and people.

all these waste problems can be solved. only fools dismantle economic activities in the name of environmental protection

Different metals exist because of different atomic structures i.e. how many electrons, protons and neutrons. By rearranging the numbers you can get different metals.

The process to convert one metal to another is not easy. If you have gone through school you should have learnt of metals and their atomic structures and what make them different from one and another
