Yes if I never grip onto the handle, moi will fell from the staircase while alightimg

Now a incident suddenly came to my mind

Couple of week back in the evening while I was making my way down from a double decker bus and was about to alight

Suddenly I heard a loud “BAM” next I turn my head and suddenly a boy fell from the staircase and he was crying very loudly

This boy was with his young mum sitting on the double decker and I went down first dnd they follow next snd the driver step break and the boy fell

A FW immediately rush to his aid

The mum did not criticise the driver and Diam Diam and she was seen consoling the boy at the bus stop seat

Next a auntie joke with the boy, fell down and pain pain and the mum noded and smile
Nowadays I seldom go up the 2nd level, also no faith in Nparks tree pruning. Preciously got few occasions, the leaves and branches brush the windscreen. No idea when one will strike the bus.

All the services in sg all going downhill.

80yo must wait till bus completely stop in bus bay before standing up to alight
That should be the way. Unfortunately, some driver or passengers may become impatient and not understanding. In Japan if you get up before the bus stops, the driver will tell you to sit down. People only get up when the bus stops. Very good safety culture.

Sometimes also due to cars just dash in front or emergency cases
Best is stand up after bus fully stopped

Recently I took a bus
Went to tell driver v hot n he said has wind …. Zzzz

I see the lady in front also tying hair but no one bothered to tell him also
Behind like sauna
Zzz
Those I encountered when taking buses, no cars or anything in front, even when going knto the bus bay.

When I drove, my passengers don't even feel me braking or the jerk when the car coming to a stop.

How do you know they want to be the first to alight, not don't want to hold up the bus or scare the driver close the door before they alight?
Or the elderly is trying to be considerate by having a shorter alighting time=faster journey for other commuters if no one is boarding.

I dunno about this 262... but nowadays some bus the design like more like a tour bus instead of a service bus lor... like got many steps up/down n need to "climb" 2 steps to the seat... difficult for elderly

They can only view when SBS is 101% sure they are not liable for this case. Mata won’t auto offer the family to see one.
That's how our system works.

Police wait for sbs decision.
Sbs wait for minister of transport decision.
All just keep waiting . . . . . In the end took many months and years to settle despite this age of technology.
Technology supposed to speed things up but comes to settlement...still takes damn long to claim.

Strange right?! Lol.

Man, 80, dies after losing balance on SBS Transit bus

https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/elderly-man-dies-after-losing-his-balance-on-sbs-transit-bus

SINGAPORE – An elderly man died after he lost his balance and fell in an SBS Transit bus on the evening of March 12.

The 80-year-old had stood up from his seat and was preparing to alight when he fell before he could grab a pole, said SBS Transit spokeswoman Grace Wu in response to queries.

The bus, which was plying the service 262 route, was making a right turn at a junction in Ang Mo Kio when the incident occurred.

The driver provided first aid to the man and called an ambulance, added Mrs Wu.

When contacted, the police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force said they were alerted to the incident, at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 and Bishan Road, at about 8pm.

The man was conscious when taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he subsequently died.

Mrs Wu said: “We are in touch with his family and are saddened to learn of his passing. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to them during this difficult time of loss.”

The man’s family has tapped social media to appeal for eyewitnesses.

Facebook user Sharlene Lee, who identified herself as his granddaughter, posted on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page that he hit his head.

He boarded the bus at AMK Hub, she added.

“We are looking for any possible eyewitnesses who saw what happened or heard from anybody about the accident,” she wrote.

Police investigations are ongoing.
The driver should be shitting bricks
Unless CCTV shows the guy fell on his own without driver's doing
