Did you know: M4 CPU in the M4 Macbook Air = Ipad Pro 13" 1TB/2TB?

Hence buying this M4 Macbook Air is like buying Ipad Pro 13" without the touchscreen + inking + 5G + HDR OLED, but with multitasking MacOS instead.

That's the reason why both products are of similar price range.

But i will definitely pick the MBA over the ipad. One is a reliable sleek workhorse, the other is more of multimedia consumption and need a lot of add-ons to use as a computer.

This seals my decision: Buy Ipad Pro 13" and Macbook Pro 16.
Macbook Air / Ipad Pro can actually be combined to a single product, but Apple refuses to do so, hence I shall not reward Apple for this anti-consumer decision.

A simple solution is allow Ipad Pros to dual boot MacOS and IpadOS.
Or simply enable proper mouse control within IpadOS.

Actually Mac OS is not meant for touch screen.

In iOS and iPadOS, to close the app, you just need to slide up or use the five finger squeeze (in ipad). But it is not precise so for certain apps, the precision of the cursor of a mouse is preferred.. such as excel, CAD drawing, design, etc...

In mac OS, you have to use command Q to close the app or move your mouse cursor and click x (which technically doesn't really terminate the app). So you can see that Mac OS is more of mouse controlled OS because the apps are designed to be manipulated this way. And also, a mac can be big so a pure touchscreen is tiring to use.

Or a Mac Mini for home, and a Ipad Pro 13 for mobile productivity and leisure?

Having touchscreen is one thing. It's the user interface.

Can compare how to close an app in android/ios/ipad OS versus closing an app in mac os? To me, the mac os GUI has to be re-designed if apple wants to implement touchscreen.
