I believe the key timeline will be around August or September, likely after the National Day Parade (NDP), when efforts to reinforce LKY’s legacy may resurface.
However, LKY is not LW’s father, so he cannot leverage personal grief to gain sympathy votes. This is why I have always believed that LHL’s son is the next PM, despite all the denials. If all else fails, he is the one who could invoke LKY’s legacy for electoral support.
While this strategy may resonate with boomers, it is unlikely to be effective with younger generations, who are less influenced by LKY’s legacy. As a result, support for the ruling party among citizens is expected to continue declining, which explains the push to grant citizenship to foreign nationals who can serve as new voters to counterbalance this trend.
However, these newly naturalized citizens may ultimately be the party’s undoing, as their support is based on gratitude rather than long-term loyalty. In the event of a crisis or conflict, these individuals are more likely to leave, leaving the ruling party reliant on the core base of longstanding citizens, who are not as supportive and fed up with the P@P as hell!
