To be fair, I think she really works hard for her residents. People are not stupid. Slackers like lam pin min will be voted out.
Mcpherson boomers like her cos she address their concerns, and try to help in every way, always see her residents till 11 plus, and finished session late. unlike most mp, 下次请早 type.
Ppl, esp boomers, r not stupid, they will kpkb if their issues is not addressed well

She did well with her constituent... and managing grassroots and MPS...

But whether she did well in representing her constituent in Parliament... voicing out their concerns... which is what the voters voted her for... is up to her residents to judge her...

I would say she is a good estate manager and grassroot leader... whether she is a good MP is for her resident to judge her...

She didn’t do much actually, she just knows how to package her PR image well when attending events in her ward by mingling with the seniors in her area wherever there’s the media around. Which leads her to having a strong support in the geylang east/ Aljunied crescent area. The real macpherson area itself where circuit road and balam rd are located are simply negligible for her because its filled with FTs nowadays who rent rooms and a new workers dorm right smack in the middle of the flats there creating another kind of problems altogether.

And she still couldn’t work closely with SPF to ensure the illegal gambling, drug problems within the rental flats at circuit road are kept under control either.

what was lacking back then was a really credible opposition candidate to give her a good fight when she was still in a SMC, if there’s a really good alternative she might not even be here today, but sadly this time she bao jiak already because she is hiding back inside the grc system.
No offense , personally deep down feel that she is more of an estate manager than a C-Suite executive personnel, which is suitable as a grassroots person that walks the ground but not capable enough to be a minister (or even MP).

She does show her face every now and then, but tbh who knows if the planning for the groundwork is done by her or the people at PA. Simply just showing face can gives off the impression that you are doing a lot. Some MPs and Ministers will just show up time-to-time at RC events, etc. to give a speech and stay around for 30 minutes - 1 hour or so then zao liao.

Even some non-MPs like Lam Pin Min can show up to give up to give out Edusave Bursaries, but Jamus was not even invited to attend even though he is the elected MP for his ward in Sengkang GRC.

In my opinion, not saying that it is the truth or what but always felt that she just wants to be seen as hardworking in the eyes of the public ever since her initial negative press during the 2011 GE Campaign.
As in, she just want to prove everyone wrong and thus seek the validation of the people as a result.

Anyway, think after she started her managerial career at GRAB/DCS Card Centre and right now MetaComp. Can notice that she is appearing less regularly, last time will time to time (think maybe once every 3-4 months or so?) see her around the Hawker centres/office shops around the Geylang East area when go there to eat one. Think for the last 1 1/2 - 2 years, like never really see her much liao.

if she really is minister caliber, she would have been able to hold down a managerial position for long rather than job-hopping at this level (Her roles at above companies are not junior level or even middle-management. Technically, is senior management level liao).

Also, never really see her speaking on behalf of Singaporean Citizens' concerns the same way Jamus/LMW/Hazel Poa does?

Usually focus on those smaller matters, which does not impact Singaporeans' day-to-day life, did she mention anything about the Medishield Premium/GST Increase/Need for smaller class size/BTO and also HDB's ever-increasing costs and the negative impacts arising from it so far, as of yet?

Circuit road area is the most “lok kok” area. Looks really like slum and recently a few blocks near McPherson road Kenna enbloc. Walk there at night really looks dark and eerie.

Plus umbrella, trolley and teddy bear.
It is a lesson learnt for all of them.

Still need lao uncle to lecture them on how to slide across the ground like butter ?

Yah with freebies, sinkies will be happy to q up and take photos with them. Exactly the photo and context they want. Win win for the MP and sinkies, everyone is a winner.

To be fair, some MPs are really dedicated to the people and they get things done on the ground.
