within china they are blaming the italian architect design now
The Italian-thai development company is the joint venture main contractor. According to wiki the construction company was founded by an Italian and thai so named Italian-thai.

The architect is a thai company called forum architect. On site consultant supervision is by a joint venture of 2 thai companies. Civil and structural design is meinhardt group.

I posted the sauce earlier in another thread but got merged. Can search for it.

thais realising something wrong liao.....1990 built 烂尾 still standing tall while the new govt admin building collapse so easily

Can not compare. There are many reasons. Below are 2 simple logics.

- one is old building that is build and cement had set for long time. The other is newly build and cement might not had fully set yet.
- the old building is almost complete with exterior and internal walls for extra support. The new building doesn't.

Had the building been completed, it is unlikely to collapse.

An architect will be able to explain more to you.

Modern skyscrapers exterior "wall" is non load bearing. Mostly aluminum cladding and glass windows. One of the video can see the lower floors blue cladding panels or windows buckled and peeled away from the building as it collapsed.

1st time full strength.

The Operation Lionheart contingent departed around 1pm, at full strength for the first time since a mission to Turkey in 2023, also for earthquake relief, an SCDF spokesman told The Straits Times.
