Since the retirement of CST, SPP is going downhill under his wife leadership. CST didn't manage his succession planning well. He relied on his wife, thinking that voters will support her in the name of him. This strategy did not work at all. That's why PAP finally through Sitoh captured Potong Pasir after so many years. It is a waste that the effort done by CST did not carry on. Look at Hougang, despite Low steeping asides, he managed to find credible candidate to replace him and continue to secure win for Hougang under WP.

LT's party stand no chance at all. Before defeating SPP, can his party defeat SPP even at the first place? If not, why waste time contesting Potong Pasir. A simply waste of time. Voters will reject his party unanimously on such behaviour.

Neither the SPP nor LT is likely to win in Potong Pasir, as both parties are weak, lack strong branding, and lack the necessary groundwork and resources to mount a serious challenge to the PAP.

Potong Pasir has the potential to be competitive, but only if either the WP or PSP contests there. However, the WP seems uninterested in Potong Pasir as it is not in their nature to contest an area without first establishing a presence on the ground.

Demographics has changed. pP these days not the same as CST days

It is evident that in the worst case scenario, TCM does not drag down 4 other MPs costing them 5 parliamentary seats.

If he cannot even nail down a simply easy SMC like Jalan Kayu, he does not deserve to be in parliament. Think about it this way.

If he still dun make it, then I dun think he will get a 3rd chance again if pinky dun insist.

As for GRCs, I dun think all the anchors are safe except for LW, LHL and TCH. (NEH should be retiring ?)
Unless there is strong OPP challenge, the rests of the "anchors" are all shaky at the moment.
I dun think the rest of anchors want to free up the space for him unless they already have some advisor that they want to "step down".
As mentioned, they also dun want to get the luck from Ah Meng and end up selling 50 cent kopi.

u can see like how so many ppl dislike Lim Tean in this thread. then the charles yeo speech make ppl feel like he is a joker even if he is right

last election mostly those areas got 40%+ votes all either from WP or PSP and also CSJ. ppl willing to vote opp for alternative voices but they not going to just vote any ah cat or ah dog in.

Think that's perhaps what incumbent conditioned the people to think bah. Many sub consciously measured opposition against the standard incumbent painted for them without realising so.

Are they electing opposition for power or not. No, they don't want opposition to win power. But yet they are picky on opposition as if they are electing opposition for power. Many, if not most are self contradictory.

Not sure about alternative voice. Its something that incumbent psycho the people into believing there will always be such with the NMP and NCMP system. So, think many are just kidding themselves.

The real purpose of opposition inside is the veto power. Especially on the increasingly undesirable decisions on people. Kpkb (i.e. the alternate voice) is just secondary.

But many conditioned by incumbent already conveniently forgot why they even need vote for opposition in the first place. Think they tend vote on the line that incumbent want them to vote.

Not sure about others, but if just aiming for the veto number, don't really need care what and who about opposition. The odds are against them to win. So, just need to whack to hope to get the numbers.

It may work for the older generation.
How many of them are still around ?
And they are already doing this for a few times.
And what is given will be return multiple fold.

Some of the young and middle aged residents already went through the same process too.
They are also underwent more hardship thanks to the policies.
I have my doubt on it working any more when the giveaway does not address the high cost of living and livelihood.
