In order to ensure that the incumbent listens, there needs to be a greater presence of opposition seats. Opposition wards are essentially served by two groups of "MPs."(y)

WP is the largest and the most resource rich opposition party in Singapore, only PSP comes close to them. Their operating expenses is probably 2-3% that of PA due to organising activities in their own GRC/ SMC and walkabouts in the eastern part of Singapore but still much more than those mosquito parties that only spend money on renting of their office and meetings a few times a year.
Ruling incumbents can directly utilize taxpayers' money for all their expenses.

Opposition parties are really stretched out in terms of resources. Alot of things, including booking venues, transportation arrangement, applying for the necessary permissions, printing/pasting election flyers, and all the administrative tasks, etc need to handle by them ownself.

Even go to Parliament, probably the research also done by opposition MPs themselves. Unlike the ruling party MPs, where can just us ka kia to do everything.

Thus, require volunteers for alot of the manual tasks. They lack funding too, have donated $300 each to SDP/PSP/WP. Just doing what I can at the moment.

WATCH: Gabriel Lam and Ng Shi Xuan, the two new faces introduced by Health Minister Ong Ye Kung in Sembawang GRC ahead of #GE2025, spoke a little more about themselves.

Mr Ng, a director of battery company Powermark Battery & Hardware, says he previously served as a grassroots volunteer in MacPherson and used to be a public servant.

Mr Lam, who is chief operating officer of moving company Shalom International Movers, says he has "a lot to learn as a new politician", quipping that "in my professional life, people know me as a mover of things, but here in Sembawang, I want to move lives".

Ng Shi Xuan is ok. Young and fresh and works in Civil Service before taking over his family business , so know who is the boss. and his face and youth can connect with youngsters

Gabriel Lam not so much. already got the boss aura and 1st introduction already want to correct Minister. lol.
OYK says they dont live here ... and donno the place well..
then he come on to do his introduction and say the Minister says we do not live in Sembawang but actually my family moved into tSembawang GRC in 1988 and then went on to show more proof of how well he know the area and how he have been serving in GRC.

So with that 1st pargraph of introduction.. he already offended all of PAP.
1st) Minister donno the candidate he is introducing to the GRC . Someone who is supposedly caring for the GRC and have the interest of the GRC at heart . but do not have the effort or incentive to know who he is introuducing as candidate to take care of the GRC.

2nd) show PAP is the ultimate decision maker of who to parachute to the GRCs and even the Minister has no say to the GRC he is taking care of.

3rd) Gabriel EQ.. walan.. "he could have just skipped the first sentence "Minister say we do not live in sembawang".. and just carry on with how well he know the GRC. That's enough. By saying that first sentence, he is pointing out Minister flaw in #1 as well as correcting him on a trivial matter(but matters to him).

He’s not aligned to singapore

please no. Don’t know why people think it’s even possible to rise so high in 2 Chinese companies without reviewing their interest.

So I don’t think suitable for Singapore politics
