Despite doing no ground work at all, Lim Tean is convinced that he can win back Potong Pasir after 14 long years. Will the noise from Lim Tean be enough to easily defeat Sitoh Yih Pin, an entrenched PAP incumbent?

Even if people are frustrated with PAP, are they all going to cast their votes for Lim Tean and some random uncles whom they have not seen before?
He mean himself?

Last GE, he sent some uncles to contest in Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, causing a multi-cornered fight with SDA and PAP. Then his party lost their deposit. Desmond Lim's SDA actually did better than Lim Tean's party! LOL
This really is LMAO, but SDA really got do ground work in Pasir Ris Punggol and the noisy woke party didn't

Precisely
It's all garbage
I knew it when I first heard it

The first who have to test out the theory is George who was too young to retire but PAP didn't want him back

I was waiting to see what great accomplishment he can achieve in the private sector.
End up he was exposed
He's a NOTHING

Same applies to all the top notch scholars.
PAP basically sold a pack of garbage to Singaporeans

Everyone just use a bit of their pea brain.
Why would say a Singapore bank hire a say 40 year old scholar who was largely in the civil service and pay him top dollar?

In the private sector, if you get $400000 or $500000 at that age, you jolly well better perform.
If they get that kind of pay , the money they make for their company is several times that.
Nobody is paying these elites $500000 so he can get them $500000 of business

That y if ministers wanna keep grading themselves with global ceo pay scale they should quit and look for greener pasture. No one will wanna hold them back and someone will be willingly to take over.

If any hawkers also wanna compare their food price with michelin restaurants price and kpkb selling too cheap, no one is stopping them to sell same price as michelin restaurants.

Same as those working in corporate world. You either do the job or you quit and look for a better one. You kpkb to your boss you are underpaid and expect him to match whatever amount u throw at him ? Your boss will tell you the door is always open you can just go out.

If it is as simple as one man one vote then we wont even need grc. We also dont need what ebrc and waste tax payer money.

still doesn’t change the fact that if enough people are fed up, the incumbent gets voted out.

simple as that - just vote them out.

and if that’s not happening, then either do something about it… or maybe accept that most people aren't as unhappy as you think.

all i know is- if after 1, 2, 3, or even 4 elections you're still bitter about the incumbent, and your "resistance" begins and ends with pcw posts on edmw… then honestly, you deserve everything that's happening - or not happening - to you.

I don't want to say
But people here don't see the obvious

For someone like Vivian who's a government doctor , if he wants , by all means quit and go to private sector.

Then see how great he is
Or he'll see how difficult it is
AS IF private sector or the real world, you paste your grades on the wall and say you are a President scholar, you'll be busy 12 hours a day with non stop business

Same for those big shots who became ministers.... oh.... being a minister is such an easy life compared to their private sector jobs?
Oh. Oh. I FORGOT
They sacrificed for.... Singapore

Just apply your brains and think.....

Mr Lee Kuan Yew has said the day whites failing to form government MUST come and I agree with him

the law of nature says some things happen slowly slowly suddenly

slowly took place in 2011

slowly slowly took place in 2020

slowly slowly suddenly can happen as soon as 2030

voting whites out is happening despite all the gerrymandering and many new citizens and much BS by whites

the slowly slowly took more than 4 GEs and nobody has given up yet and because nobody has given up yet so the slowly slowly suddenly is going to come, in Mr Lee Kuan Yew's words, it MUST come and I agree with him

Maybe not in 4 GEs but by 2030 most likely

See instead of simple logic u back to the same narrative of its fair, one man one vote, not good vote them out.

Just a simple example. I put all majority opposition voters into an area and let them win big 70 to 90%. While all other areas that i carved out i win with a low margin of 51 to 53%.

Total votes 60% to 40%. But i won 90% of total seats. How does that translate to even close to 1 man 1 vote or vote them out theory by you ?

That y there is a term call gerrymandering and many educated sporeans has already starting to realise and see this.

Ok la i know where you are from not trying to convince you. End of the day 1 man 1 vote is good enough for u the rest of how and why doesnt matter. This is your definition of democracy as far as i understand.

how about both parties don't contest and let the PAP have a walkover?

at least they can contribute to the first walkover in 14 years

WATCH: Gabriel Lam and Ng Shi Xuan, the two new faces introduced by Health Minister Ong Ye Kung in Sembawang GRC ahead of #GE2025, spoke a little more about themselves.

Mr Ng, a director of battery company Powermark Battery & Hardware, says he previously served as a grassroots volunteer in MacPherson and used to be a public servant.

Mr Lam, who is chief operating officer of moving company Shalom International Movers, says he has "a lot to learn as a new politician", quipping that "in my professional life, people know me as a mover of things, but here in Sembawang, I want to move lives".

Could former PAP Hougang branch chair Jackson Lam, lawyer Deryne Sim or former Nominated MP Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi be potential candidates for #GE2025, after they were seen recently in Nee Soon GRC? Home Affairs and Law Minister K Shanmugam fielded questions from reporters on the new faces.

Mr Shanmugam was speaking at the DBS Foundation Community Pop-Up Market in Khatib, where Mr Lam and Ms Sim were also spotted. https://cna.asia/3FJczNE

I have volunteered with an opposition party before. All I can say is, the PAP have deeper resources to make me wonder whether is it worth it to fight so hard for so long.
which also makes me think, as a MP in the PAP camp, with zero office position, what's the point really besides doing MPS

like is there really anything to fight for or allowed to voice out?

as a Pink I/C citizen I find her file throwing behavior in parLEEment deplorable

if Mr Lee Kuan Yew were alive he would have taken her to task

in public

since her file throwing behavior is such a breach of white decorum
