Think got heard of one own self run lion causing the marriage breakdown. Then after divorced got kids custody. Everyday go poison the kids mind with how bad the ex was, everything was the ex fault.

Maybe did it to hide own guilt. But it works. End up the ex couldn't have a decent relationship with the kids. And thus distanced self from that family. Moved on with new relationship.

Can only say, good luck with the kids. Can't imagine how the kids are going to grow up with twisted mindset of people. May affect their own relationship next time.

Sometimes people can be very selfish when come to trying to not make it looks like its their fault.

8 years is exaggeration. more like can be out after 15 years. not all crimes / sentences get half price. serious offences must do at least 3/4

SINGAPORE - The mother of four-year-old Megan Khung who had been abused and humiliated for more than a year before she died was on April 3 sentenced to 19 years’ jail.

On Feb 28, Foo Li Ping, 29, had pleaded guilty to one count of child abuse, one count of allowing the death of a child, and one count of intentional disposal of a corpse to impede investigations.

Another count of child abuse was considered in sentencing.

Foo looked expressionless as the sentence was read out by High Court judge Hoo Sheau Peng.

“For their own sadistic ends, the accused persons robbed Megan of her dignity,” said the judge.

The prosecution had on Feb 28 asked for 15 to 20 years’ jail, saying the case involved a gross abnegation of parental duties.

For more than a year, Foo and her boyfriend, Wong Shi Xiang, 38, caned and slapped Megan, deprived the girl of food and clothes, and made her sleep at the balcony of their rented condominium unit in Paya Leba

She’s already in remand since July 2020 when she was arrested, that’s like 4 years plus to sentence date which is today and it counts towards her sentence.

With good behaviour 2/3 remission, she only needs to serve about 13 years of her 19 years…so you do the sum, she only needs to serve about 8 more years and can come out

The difference is that this evil couple mistreated and abused the child without the intention of actually killing her, although it eventually led to her death.

Anthony Ler meticulously planned, recruited people, rehearsed and executed the murder of his wife. Taking her life was his main objective.

Dunno how true is that except for the intention of murder. Even that is subjective.

SB former wife BF seriously injured Megan, breaking her Jaw. But he was not remorseful, didn't even sent her to doctor!

They have every intention to torture without taking note if it will take her life. Maybe that's called manslaughter. I dunno.

But the sentence is too light for those 2. Not looking forward to the sentence of this Novelle.
Won't be surprise if it is 10yrs which can reduce to 5yr or even 3yrs!
