Let's see how it goes.

If the 3Gbps offer at S$29.55 still comes with HB710, then it is still a very good offer. After all, most of the users will not feel any differences between 3Gbps and 5Gbps plan.

In fact, 3Gbps may make those users who prefer to sell HB710 and use another 2.5Gbps capable router (eg: Asus TUF-AX6000 or the cheaper TP-Link Archer BE230) feel better and save money too.

Starhub 3Gbps offer (indirect link). The picture now shows HB710 and hopefully they will not change that to HB410 (white color) later.

The following Starhub 5Gbps Offer link (indirect link) is still alive. Let's see how long the offer will still be there.

I think the 3Gbps plan comes with HB410. if you look at the image file name, it say "tile-hb410-router.png". The 3Gbps plan router picture also looks slightly wider than one for the 5Gbps plan.

ya, it might be a new colour not for public sale yet or custom order by SH

Good point. Indeed Carousell already got HB410 on sale and it is of black colour.

In the end, I think you are right that 3Gbps offer only comes with free HB410. In that case, it is a much worse offer than the existing 5Gbps offer.

I have edited my earlier posts.

Why getting worst? This router will end up in the Trash.

Maybe you want to ask Starhub why they would change the good 5Gbps offer to the much worse 3Gbps offer.

Anyway, it is better to be patient and wait until next Monday to see if the good 5Gbps offer at S$29.55 per month with free HB710 is still there or not.

As of now, it is still valid. And people who are interested can still sign up online or whatsapp Selina to sign up.

1. Starhub recommended 2.5G switches to go with HB410 and 10G switches for HB710/EB810v.

Starhub Broadband Router FAQ.
https://www.starhub.com/personal/support/article.html?id=LfNB5odcBt0mTG6Pr7GSB7

1) What switch is compatible with TP-Link HB410?
The following switches are compatible with HB410:

TL-SG108S-M2 8-Port 2.5G Multi-Gigabit Desktop Switch
TL-SG105S-M2 5-Port 2.5G Multi-Gigabit Desktop Switch

2) What switch is compatible with TP-Link HB710?
The following switches are compatible with HB710:

TL-SX105 5-Port 10G Desktop switch
TL-DS105x 5-Port 10G Desktop Switch
TL-DS1008x 8-Port 10G Desktop/ rackmount Switch

3) What switch is compatible with TP-Link EB810v?
The following switches are compatible with EB810v:

TL-SX105 5-Port 10G Desktop switch
TL-DS105x 5-Port 10G Desktop Switch
TL-DS1008x 8-Port 10G Desktop/ rackmount Switch

2. The 10G switches recommended by Starhub are pretty expensive. So you may want to check out the following thread for 10G switches or 2.5G/10G switches. Many users only has one 10G capable device, so it is cheaper to get mixed 2.5G/10G switches in that case.

Power users may take a look at switches with SFP+ ports.

Any recommendations for a mixed 10G unmanaged switch? Thank you
I was looking at the TL-DS1008x 8-Port 10G but I think I need about 10 ports min..
Cheers

You can check out the following post.

A few forum uses got the following and it seems to work fine. Out of the box it will work as an unmanaged switch.
Siri-vision SR-ST3408F, quad 10G SFP+ ports, quad 10G RJ45 ports. managed

Should I go with

1) starhub 5gbp + hb710 + 2x eb810v

2) m1 6gbp 2 x bt10 + buy 1 set of carousel

Or something else.

For better WiFi performance? 3 storey landed with ethernet ports on level 2 and 3 while using WiFi linked to level 3 router for gaming on level 2. Was getting <10ms on old lousy Singtel router .

Your info is confusing. Do you have LAN port in Level 2? It seems you have a typo and you only have LAN ports in Level 1 and Level 3 but NOT Level 2. Is that correct?

1) M1 option will be better if just compared the two options you mentioned.

But my suggestion will be get a better main router like ROG GT-BE98, then use the two ZenWiFi BT10 units as the mesh nodes only.

ZenWiFi BT10 has a weak CPU and may not be able to handle the duty as the main router for the 3-nodes or 4-nodes system.

2) TP-Link EasyMesh is not good as AImesh so no point to consider HB710 + EB810v option if compared to the M1 option (Asus AImesh).

3) The other option is to get Starhub 5Gbps, but then sell the HB710 and get 3 nodes of TP-Link Deco BE85. Deco Mesh is not as feature rich as Asus AImesh but may be more stable.

4) If budget allows, then go for better options like Ubiquiti Unifi. Please go to the Ubiquiti thread to ask for suggestions in that case.

Just fyi

Selina (the recommended Starhub Sales Agent) said that the $29.55 offer is only for new user. However, if you're like me an existing SH user due for recontract, you can still sign up as new user to enjoy this promo rate. Upon successful installation of the new fibre plan, can then proceed to cancel your old/existing plan (pro-rated if there's overlap)

FYI, this has been the case before Selina came into the picture.
