I think employer or those coy staff should changed their mindset.
intern is just attachment and learn from them right from gro7nd zero.
i heard many are doing mundane work such as filing, data entry only.
and the pay is extremel very Low.

let me put it this way. I believe that internship is a give and take situation.

1, it provides the company with a cheap work force alternative for company to use as a resource.
2. it provides the student with a taste of what work life is all about and how their education discipline is applicable to work

Unfortunately, a lot of arseholes only rmbs point 1 and just exploit the students to their maximum.

For me, I will use the interns as resources but at the same time, I will also take time to teach them things and review their logbook. My approach to interns is always clear, u r intern, u cant avoid doing some of the more tedious and boring work that a normal employee wants to avoid, but at the same time, while i cant pay u more for the work u done, i will guide and provide u with learning experience to compensate for this. If you are keen to learn, I will teach. If u r not keen, let me know and I will just give u the work that best suited for your internship allowance and do not waste time and effort to give myself stress by correcting and educating u.

Reality check for interns to rough them up for tough work outside, back stabbing, office politics.
