Hi all,

Just signed up and had the 3gbps plan installed. Currently the TP, ONT and router are in living room. From bedroom I get roughly 1gbps via wifi, but wanted to make full use of the 3gbps so currently I have a random 15m cat7 ethernet cable from Challenger plugged into the router all the way to my pc in bedroom.

While with the ethernet cable I am now getting roughly 2.85gbps, It is quite ugly since I tape it along the walls. Was thinking of instead using a long fibre optic cable to extend the cable used for TP to ONT/modem. That way it'll be just a thin cable which should be less noticeable, and the modem and router will be in my room with a short ethernet cable to my pc. Will this be a logical solution to minimize the mess if the location of router or wifi doesn't matter?

Drilling is out of the question, relocation of TP also out of the question since first port is used by Singtel ISP and MR advise to not install 2nd TP as I just activated the port and I will have to pay a hefty cancellation fee since they have to deactivate the port and cancel the current plan first...A little frustrating since I brought this query up from before both the NLT and MR appointments.

So my options are long ethernet cable, long fibre optic cable, or some sort of cabling/trunking work? I enquired and it seems MR no longer offer cabling/trunking work, they suggest I approach NLT instead.

I believe both works, depends on what is more suitable for your personal preference.
Long fibre to room will be much easier for tidiness, but bare in mind that it is easier to damage as compraed to LAN cables if you are not careful while pulling the fibre to your room.

For those who recently upgraded from the 1 Gbps to the 3 Gbps plan, did they change your ONT, or do we still end up using the same one from before? Am planning ahead to see if an SFP+ tranceiver is needed for my gateway (UDM SE) to take advantage of this full line speed, or if its DAC compatible. thx

Hi,

Has anyone with HB710 tried setting up easymesh with Starhub's EB810v model? (Either wireless or ethernet backhaul)

Since both models (HB710/EB810v) are sold by Starhub and reccomended to be used together, I would assume it works. I've also read here some users were given EB810v model from MR, but would like to get other's thoughts first.

Thanks in advance

Ah, I see. Thanks for the update.

So now got three versions.

Nokia XS-250X-A
Nokia XS-240X-A
Nokia XS-140X-A
Any idea what are the differences between them? I tried searching for their technical specs but couldn't find much info on them. Will try going through the ONT box tonight, see if there's any info.

Just treat them to be the same. For ONT, you can just treat it as a black box. Nothing you can configure anyway.

I just recontract 10 Gbps with Asus GT-BE25000 router. Now my wireless speed faster than LAN..
If want higher speed on LAN, need to upgrade LAN cable and hardware.
