so it depends on the opposition to see if they got do groundwork before GE lor...

WP and PSP are hardworking. They got do regular groundwork.

Those that last minute hold buddha leg sure uplorry...

I think PH is counted but saturday as a polling day is going against the gian png nature of PAP as they don't do saturdays for polling days historically.
GE 2006 and GE 2011 were on Saturdays

May-9 may be too long liao, for the past 4 elections from nomination day to polling day is all around 10 days.
In Singapore, the number of days between Nomination Day and Polling Day has varied across different elections. Based on historical trends, Polling Day is typically held between 9 to 14 days after Nomination Day.

For example:

  • In GE2020, Nomination Day was on June 30, and Polling Day was on July 1010 days apart.
  • In GE2015, Nomination Day was on September 1, and Polling Day was on September 1110 days apart.
  • In GE2011, Nomination Day was on April 27, and Polling Day was on May 710 days apart.
For GE2025, Nomination Day has been set for April 23, but Polling Day has yet to be officially announced2. However, based on past elections, it is likely to fall within a similar timeframe.

you are right

Actually both dates likely but personally, I would really prefer 9th of may…then got extra long weekend
The Extra long weekend is for a good break one.
Why let it get interrupted with a polling day :s13:
