She already left MFA and has a cushy private sector job with no intention of going back the civil service.

also her credentials are probably not good enough for PAP, since PAP only pick young lawyers/doctors, and will need to serve as volunteers long enough with them.

They are standing out now only because during election period, msm have no choice but to give them equal amount of coverage as pap for introducing their candidates and manifestos.

of course. but to be parachuted from volunteer to candidate in PAP would definitely be much harder as a young person compared to WP since she would probably have to be pitted against 3x the number of young women fighting for the Tin Pei Ling/ Nicole Seah slot.

What I meant was that PAP rarely pick young candidates, and when they do it’s usually because need to have served long time in their party. Case in point being Cassandra Lee (33 yo), volunteered for 15years. Not saying the system is good since it allows sycophants like Ivan to emerge out of the cracks. But candidates like Eileen probably will not be able to be fielded for election if she joins PAP

For senior civil servants/or ex military they don’t have to serve as volunteers but because they have the credentials PAP look out for in political office.
