Interesting. The difference is donair uses a thicker ?pita style bread vs thinner tortilla?
Donair I think is actually the type of meat.

Donair has middle Eastern roots. But is a Canadian modification and distinct to Eastern Canada. Modification of Kebab and Shawarma. Also the sweet sauce is not from Middle East

Donair is a Canadian food.
