What if one day you see PAP fielding Simonboy / Mayiduo. They like to rub shoulders with MIW a lot

Why no journalist ask if he is elected, will he be a full-time MP? What about his trails? Will he continue conducting them?

Being a person of interest or politically exposed person, it will be inconvenient for him to continue doing what he does right?

He is very senior doctor, maybe that’s why he cannot empathise with commoners problem but he is very capable, no doubt. You want him be your doctor.
No, i wont even want him to be my dr. So long never practice, rusty and cannot catch up with new tech and development in medicine. Tons of good drs why must see his stuck up face? I felt like I am a beggar at the mps.

He was also not respectful and arrogant at MPS. Attitude sucks. Glad to see him retires!
It was a similar case with Chiong Kee Hiong (CKH)... a low-profile yes-man for this GRC.

Can't say he contributed much back when the GRC was a 5-man team - let alone the last run after GE2020.

He did get "arrowed" to be the "Green Ambassador" for the GRC - but again, that one is not a pivotal role in the running of the day-to-day affairs of the GRC.

So, needless to say, this upcoming election we are seeing all these low-profile guys who did not do much but adopt a "passup homework" mentality MPs, get the axe from the higher-ups in the party, and not be allowed to run for GE2025.

And I daresay the other MP Saktiandi - was equally a yes-man as CKH, and equally a "passup homework" kind of guy for the GRC.

It was a toss-up between either one of them to face the axe and have the new candidate replace them...
but for some reason PAP must've realised the Singh does not give PAP good optics - and it would be better to retain Saktiandi as a rallying face for the Malays staying in the GRC.

So, CKH got the boot. This is the reason why.

Neh only talks rubbish. Use mouth power but never help his residents much. Pui. Good that he finally retires.

Thanks for the demographics.

This is the exact reason why Singh pulled out after "being sighted" at the TPY walkabout.

Most of the elderly in TPY have no affinity for Sikhs, and the younger population in Bishan have even less preference for a Sikh candidate.

He was bad optics, so he got the boot, and Saktiandi got to keep his job since there are also a lot of low-income Malay population staying in the 1-rm rentals in the zone that Saktiandi is currently in-charge of.

Anyone else have any "from-the-ground" accounts - feel free to add on. Coz this discussion has gone into 20+ pages but not very informative at all with a lot of random comments and nothing substantial at all.

Seldom see Saktiandi around lorong 6 - 8 tpy. Only during this election see he walk the ground 2-3 times

All along there's this assumption he's more focus on the novena estate which coveres alot of private properties?

This GRC does not cover the Novena estate. Saktiandi is based off TPY East CC - that is his "base camp".

The side nearer to Novena MRT - that's under Jalan Besar GRC.
Everything opposite Thomson Road, to the west, where IRAS and United Square is, it's under Tanjong Pagar GRC.

Bishan-TPY GRC ends where PIE is - at Jalan Toa Payoh. There are some private houses near Lornie Road under this GRC - but the votes there are minuscule as they are mostly private/landed houses.
