Will there be a flocking to safety in SSB this month following the US tariffs?

I think the recent replies they say cause only limited ppl max out so probably not unless stats change
Stats unlikely changed. The people around me who 5 yrs ago did not max SSB still not maxed now. Bought a bit but still way from maxed.

My bet is no. What about you?
I think there will be little bit more interest, seeing banks savings account interest rates are showing signs of heading further downwards, but not a flock of ppl who are into stocks because they seem to be rebounding from the dip.

"On Tuesday (Apr 22), the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is scheduled to announce the amount of debt it will auction on Apr 28."

Is that anything to do with SBMAY25?
Any trend in interest rates for coming SSBs?
Someone who is knowledgeable please explain.

You're conflating things that are not related. Amount of debt to be auctioned is announced when the auction opens, which is completely routine.

This article is about long-dated bonds so it is referring specifically to the 30-year SGS bond which was just reopened for application. Nothing to do with SBMAY25 or SSBs.

Just curious to find out if anyone consider SGS bonds?

IMO 3.25% interest is decent, lock up till 2054.
there's a sgs bonds thread.

if your basic question is if people did consider the answer is yes because it's always over sub

but is there a deeper question there?

well 30y 3.25%. may not be attractive to many given the long tenure

I always say us retail investors shouldn't buy long-dated SGS bonds - I wouldn't even consider 5 years let alone 30 years. It is hard to sell them on the secondary market if you need to liquidate before maturity, and if/when yields rise, your bond's value will drop.
