I just bought the Asus RT-BE92U last week from Shopee Sales. My home broadband is using M1.

Wifi keeps disconnecting. Googled and found many complained about disconnection too. Have not have the time to troubleshooting. Maybe this weekend.
BE92U speed up to 9700 mbps. tp-link BE805 has 19000mbps. So obviously tp-link has better feature than asus.

I've only started monitoring BB prices since my current contract is expiring in a month. Would it be right to say that M1 current offer of 6Gbps at $35.90 with the free BE805 is the best value plan now? I also saw the 3Gbps at $32.90 with BE230 and able to sign up online (while the 6Gbps requires a visit to M1 Shop).

I am on 1Gbps currently and don't really need anything more but it is actually difficult to find a no-frill basic BB plan for user like me. I could even continue to use my existing wifi router if the basic cost is low enough.

Think best to walk in to m1 shop and ask the CSO.

I just recontract to the 6gbps at $32.90 last Sunday.

Was also share if wish to keep the 1 gpbs, got a renew price for $24.90.( I forget to ask if there is any free router.)

for their promo last week, 1gpbs is $29.90 and free router.

Anyone has any experience with, or at least knows if … on the installation date, you give the M1 guy a router that is not 1 of those supplied by M1 e.g. you took the free low-end router but you bought an EB810V elsewhere … will they help set it up?

I’m okay with setting it up myself, but this is at my mother’s place and installation is on a weekday during office hours and the earliest I can be there to set it up myself is the next day before work … hoping to be able to avoid downtime for my mother.

they wont touch non-m1 without the package routers i am quite sure. You can set it before hand and plug and play.

Usually they wouldn't bother, but if it's for elderly, no harm asking for assistance and they might probably help since you mentioned it's for your mum's place.

Hmm if I set up the EB810V but currently it’s the M1 ONT for 1G (i.e. before they come to change the ONT for the 6G plan), I can still plug the 1G ONT to the EB810V’s WAN port right? Just that it will be running 1G? Then when they come to replace with the 6G ONT just connect to it?

If so then I’ll just go do it over the weekend, less headache about whether they will or they won’t.

assuming this is the existing setup with 1Gbps:
M1's ONT <-> EB810V's WAN Port <-> Internet/WiFi already OK

then during the 6Gbps installation day:
M1's ONT <-> EB810V's WAN Port <-> Internet/WiFi should be OK

i believe the crucial part is to ensure your 1Gbps works fine with the EB810V first.
so that during the installation day, the Engineer just swap the ONT & plug to your EB810V

Right now before they come change out the existing 1G ONT with the 6G ONT, this 1G ONT is still hooked up to the existing AX router.

There shouldn’t be any issues setting up the EB810V to run on the 1G ONT, should there?

should be no issues, but you need to setup the EB810V with the 1G ONT first

Yes, as what @HiHelloBye shared, setup your EB810v with your 1G ONT first, then when M1 comes, just have to plug the new 6Gbps ONT to your EB810v and should be working fine.
Simple plug and play.

Otherwise, like you said, you have to resolve it yourself if there's issues.
Less variables than depending on others.

Hi Guys, need advice.
Now on starhub 1gb, up for renewal. Best promo seems to be the m1 6gb. But I'm using netgear rbr750 (basement) + 3 (each level 1) satellites (backhaul) and have Netgear Armor till 2026 Sep.

If i proceed with the M1 6gb, what's the best way forward? How much are wifi7 satellites that are compatible with the be805?

You can keep using your existing Netgear Orbi mesh solution if that alreay works for you. Netgear Orbi is a better mesh solution than TP-Link Easymesh mesh technology used by TP-Link Archer BE805.

M1 XGS-PON ONT --> Archer BE805 as main router --> main Orbi router (Double NAT) --> wired or wireless backhaul --> Orbi satellites

In this case, you will have two wireless networks, one from the Archer BE805 and the other from your existing Netgear Orbi. Try to have 2m distance or a bit more between the Archer BE805 and the main Orbi router.

More about Double NAT: it should not affect normal web browsing and media streaming. I tend to believe that Netgear Armor will also work with Double NAT but please confirm with Netgear.

trying to validate my point. if i intend to get BT10 pack, would it actually make sense to go with 10GBps plan @ 50 bucks per month? i have the offer @ 32.90 pm for 6GBps plan, for BT10 i need to add 12 pm, which the package comes to 45 pm. so i effectively pay 5 bucks for 4 gbps, not that i will fully utilise the speed but for 5 bucks to futureproof, i think i can afford that. any issue with my logic?🤣

go for it...

M1's 6Gbps Plan with BT10 Pack is the best deal
especially coming from ASUS Brand...

too bad i'm still with SH's 10Gbps Fibre Plan:spin:

the voucher for 6gbps is $15, and voucher for 10gbps is $13 lol. not sure why got two category
i see.

i didnt try to get the 10gbps plan.

I got the BT10 with the +12 top up per month.

now thinking back perhaps 50 per month is quite worth for the 10gbps.
