Now then keep got what use?

Should have kept them since the 1st batch of price increases in the Q4 of the year before the 1st % increase, compare against the price increases after that 1st % came into effect … and then the price increases before the 2nd % increase, compare these 3 against the price increases after the 2nd % increase came into effect.

I doubt those people who buy big ticket items like cars will get back the chicken.

I think the value of doing this, is not to track gsr paid

After all, to calculate, just use take your total spending and calculate 9%

Nore useful to track the rise in prices of things

Remember to photocopy them as well... Ink on receipts tend to fade to oblivion over time 🤣

That's the idea no? Those who choose to buy expensive things end up footing the majority of the tax.

Of course, this includes expensive medicine and hospital fees... which I believe should be excluded if the bill originates from a Class C or even Class B inpatient.

I do not agree with GST to begin with.

On the point of paying GST when buying cars, it is just taxing on something that has already been taxed.

And GST does not make sense as we already paid income tax, now still have to tax when we spend it.

GST should be scrapped in favour of higher taxes on income, capital gains upon realisation and luxury goods. After all, the issue is that the govt is having an issue with wealth inequality.

I think there should be a community effort where we track the price of supermarket goods all through the years INDEPENDENTLY. User just upload their receipt and system will store the price details so we can see which items climb the most after 5 years for eg. No need to use govt data.

So ma fan!

Just work out how much you spend on every month:
eating and groceries
Insurance
Clothing (not your Armani or Gucci)
Utilities
basic phone and internet plans
Other basic needs

multiply by 0.01

That will be the impact of the increase in 1% from 8%-9%
(You cannot use the full 9% to calculate, because the 8% is from previous years)

So if CDC vouchers S$200 for 1 year equivalent to 1% raise in GST for household spending of S$20k/year for basic needs

Of course still have the cash payout, Senior bonus, medisave topups, U-save rebates etc etc
Lower and middle income got extra permanent GST voucher scheme
(all info taken from ChatGPT)

Do not use for big ticket items like car purchase, Rolexes, Apple phones, Air tickets, hotel bookings etc because it will be considered that you are under the top 50% earner liao

Shan ge very smart one, they will define that since you can afford the 'luxury' items, you can afford the 1% raise, they are not considered 'basic needs'

For most edmwer, definitely GST rebates from the CDC vouchers not enough one

May 1st. Note starting bank balance. All in/out thru same acct. 31st Dec note balance. Difference is what you spent. Assume all kena GST, apply 9%. Of cos, if u go JB/overseas gai gai, remove that amt.

Isnt this a bit bit easier?
