If so certain the child is dead then you also had the option of not calling the ambulance to go A&E.. all you need is a doctor to certify death. Any competent GP can do that.

Since you decided to call for ambulance to go go A&E you cannot blame the hospital for imposing charges mar..

The $160 covers only A&E fees and excludes ambulance charges. There are also additional costs to be considered for:
  • Resuscitator bag-valve mask
  • ECG /AED / vitals monitoring
  • Oxygen
  • Intubation services
  • Professional fees for 1–2 hours of healthcare services
Also the following charges have been waived off based on the itemised billing
  • Medications
  • Laboratory tests
  • IV cannulation
Also note that there is at least eight rounds of IV adrenaline administered during resuscitation, continuing for approximately 30 minutes before efforts were ceased.

To be fair, emergency departments often operate at a financial loss rather than generating revenue.
Condolences to the family.

Seems like he is more sad over his money than his baby’s death. He needs doctor’s verification before police can issue an official death certificate to carry on with cremation of his baby. Otherwise there is no way to cremate the baby.

He felt the charge was unfair as his daughter showed no signs of life upon arrival at the hospital.

Cos yours was not an emergency.
Byw mon emergencies are supposed to use private ambulance.
what you are referring to is the ambulance service...
a&e service, even if patient was admitted, will be transferred to the final bill…
my mum fall, had a cut and bleeding, you call that non emergency?
