Many ib just lack critical thinking.
If people want to criticize Andre, they should have the courage to stand behind their words, like those former NTUC individuals who publicly spoke out against NCM, using their real names and faces to add credibility.
Yes, Andre was wrong to make those comments, but they were private conversations from years ago that harmed no one. Given the time that has passed and the different stage of life he is now in, it’s reasonable to believe he has matured. He apologized, took responsibility, and moved forward which is more than what we are seeing from NCM.
NCM’s mistake is on a completely different level. If the NTUC sale had gone through, it could have directly impacted countless Singaporeans. Yet he stayed silent when it mattered most, only apologizing now because of the elections and even then, relying on others to cover for him instead of taking full accountability.
Between the two, there is no comparison. NCM’s lapse is far more serious, and his failure to own up when it counted shows a lack of integrity that should matter to every voter.
