From what I understand, his f word text is towards his private group of friends and he is ranting about resident who keep calling him on his private phone after he turn off his caller id block, as he was not able to reach him with with block turned on.

I do believe he do disgruntledly continue to do what is necessary,.. or redirecting the resident without vulgarities…

I am unsure why he had not opted for alternative communication method which you wrote, I am guessing is either is still green then (as it around covid period) or he lacked alternative communication channel.

On my end… I do have few cases where I need to contact customer using private phone either due to emergency or technical issue… and also faced similar issue where customer attempt to contact myself directly via my private phone…

To be fair, some residents have very much misplaced sense of entitlement. Behave as if they are the center of the universe and their MP is their personal servant. I ever came across one senior boomer lady on a wheelchair at a hawker center asking aloud to his middle aged son; "Lili wu lai bo?" (Did Lili (assuming referring to Lili Neo) visit her home/ house call?) and start her ranting and demands to remind her son to ask from the MP.

I was like wtf, as if owe them lifetime of assistance whenever they want. Assistance On Demand (AOD).

Therefore, I can understand the usage of "F" in that context. 🤣

if i understand correctly, they buy using 2.2b and can take back 51% of 1.85b? In a way, they “paid” around 1.3b or about 40% discount :s13:

if i am able to buy a car at 40% discount, i will confirm buy it.
Yup. Super good deal for German's Allianz, lousy deal for our side.

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/com...ce-allianz-deal-withdraw-ntuc-options-4826651
The last straw was Allianz’s intent to reduce Income Insurance’s share capital and return some S$1.85 billion in cash to shareholders within three years. This is tantamount to value capture of public money for private gains.

And as if that's not bad enough, https://www.straitstimes.com/business/questions-to-be-answered-in-the-allianz-income-saga

NTUC deputy secretary-general Desmond Tan said on Oct 16 that the labour movement’s central committee did not know of the insurers’ plan to return $1.85 billion to shareholders before it was made known in Parliament on Oct 14.
Singapore Management University’s Associate Professor Eugene Tan told ST that “it boggles the mind that NTUC’s central committee did not know of the capital reduction”.

He noted that NTUC’s Mr Ng also sits on NTUC Enterprise’s board.

Which is why I'm amazed that PM Wong still have the cheek to seek LESS checks on his (clearly incompetent) govt by voting in fewer oppositions.. Drawing multi-million dollar salary (world's highest) nevermind, incompetent yet still want less checks on his govt?!!

Really speechless..

Actually if you hear the explanation from Minister from podcast. Actually it does make sense to increase GST.

Remove GST as suggested by some or reduce the rate is not impossible once you increase it however. Because prices won’t come down. Businessman won’t decrease prices because you decrease GST
NTUC just needs to lower their pricing. Others will have to follow. End of the day we just need essentials to be affordable. Luxury good don't go down also no problem

Actually if you use your critical thinking you would have already understood that it is already a fact that when GST increase the businesses passed this on to the consumers.

Even though it might be unlikely, one cannot say with 100% conviction that no prices will come down if GST is removed.

think WP asked govt abt why increase GST?
they said abt reserves?
Then they asked if reserves are going up or down and never really get a gd reply?

so the reason behind GST increase?
did it met or not met?
they can do 1% n they choose to do 2x!
then why they wana do so early?

really jialat lo how they do the maths?
is there a possibility because see the nos drop n then scare wont be filled up but forgot ppl that dont buy during covid will be back buying what they need after mild covid?

It's the same for rising HDB prices. Once a wrong policy is implemented, a lot of time, there'll be no turning back..

Still 'no need' strong capable credible oppositions to actively check on ruling party?

they should tackle on reducing the spending (e.g reduce civil servants salary) while looking at alternative revenue.

DOGE have proven so many unnecessary spending......
