Ungrateful? When 1997 came I needed their help. Who help me? No one lor. So basically I am what I am currently due to my own efforts.

During year 2000 my bank account left $120 only who helped me? No one.

Now they covid time can dump 9000 for property agents.

it's tough for a 1997 repeat due to computing & mathematical advancements which vastly improved corporate governance, legal compliance, business account integrity and improved revenue forecasts for rapid management action. it's getting harder to hide things, world population is also higher so there are correspondingly more eyes, hands and legs to get things resolved quickly

as long as world gdp keeps going up, do not expect any major recession. s&p will keep going higher, and america will remain captain in charge of world economy. china still fails badly at gaining trust. if you've worked with chinese nationals and americans, it's plain obvious why people would rather trust white americans over mainland chinese, even though american labor costs are far higher

Then see if papaya will save sinkies like they promised to do so during erection?
Well, I am sure there will be people who are waiting for this to happen, thinking that prices would probably depreciate and represents a good time to swoop in on assets. On another hand, if a recession were to hit, jobs would be lost, the market sentiment would be negative, businesses would be affected, so on and so forth, I am not so sure why any one would hope for such a situation to happen. After all, everyone would be affected somehow.

Well isn’t there a lot of financial prediction of the Great Depression that happen in 1929… and all stock growth was halted for more than a decades…

but if people really want a reset, indeed a financial disaster of that scale is necessary… tbh with the current system with 90% holding 10% of wealth and the other 10% holding the remaining 90% is unfortunately not too sustainable

You'll just have another bunch of 10% holding 90%.

I don’t think the rich will allow the government to declare any sort of recession unless they stand to gain and will front-run all the fire-sale. Peasants always lose.
