Suggestion is to use a different VLAN and different subnet to have isolation. Your router can route between the subnets, so no need to switch back and forth?
thanks. not sure. havent tried this before. will have to see how to configure asus router to do this.

Most IoT devices are 2.4GHz. Even if band steering is enabled, the IoT devices will not roam to 5GHz. If the IoT device support 5GHz, then roaming to 5GHz will lessen the load on the 2.4GHz network, especially if you have quite a number of 2.4GHz IoT devices. So IMO, no issues using band steering at all.

Curious why, and how's your experience with it that deterred you from doing so? In my experience, I do not enable band steering, but allow the devices to choose for itself which band it prefers.
sometimes, these devices are not that 'smart' to select which band is best to use...

I return the equipment on 25 Apr to starhub shop and receive an acknowledgement request to terminate. Is there a final bill coming or isit terminated already ?

Not sure i got smoked or what but was told this offer only for new subscribers and not valid for recontract. Currently i am on starhub bb + cable tv and i want to ditch the cable tv and just recontract to basic fibre broadband. Was told 3gbps plan would cost $39.95 per month bundled with hb410 router.
Add: Called SH hotline and was told i am eligible for $29.55 per month..........blardy classic Starhub left hand don't know what right hand doing.
