Following Health Minister Ong Ye Kung and Transport Minister and Second Finance Minister Chee Hong Tat, NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng also sent a lawyer's letter to the same Facebook user, demanding that he apologize for the false statements, retract the relevant statements, and pay compensation.

Ng Chee Meng issued a statement on Monday (May 12) night, stating that he had sent a lawyer's letter to a man named Sng Chia Huat, accusing him of defamation.

The man's Facebook username is Rich Sng. Ng Chee Meng's statement stated that Sng Chia Huat had posted several posts about him on Facebook, which were false, misleading and defamatory. The statement did not clearly state what the content of these posts was about.

Ng Chee Meng, through his lawyer, asked Sng Chia Huat to retract his false statements and apologize by Friday (16th) at the latest. Ng Chee Meng also asked Sng Chia Huat to state the amount of compensation he should pay. The compensation will be donated to charity.

"If Mr Sun does not do so, I will be forced to take legal action against him to clear these false, misleading and defamatory allegations."

Ong Ye Kung and Chee Hong Tat issued a joint statement through their press secretaries on Monday evening, saying that they had sent a lawyer's letter to Sun Jiafa, accusing him of suspected defamation. The

joint statement stated that Sun Jiafa posted two posts on Facebook, accusing Ong Ye Kung and Chee Hong Tat of knowing that the defendant Su Haijin in the 3 billion yuan money laundering case had violated the law, but condoning Su Haijin's behavior; dishonestly pretending not to know Su Haijin; suspected or likely to accept bribes; and being part of the system that protects such criminals.
