max relief is also just 80K per pax right? no matter the number of kids?
Relief is only $4,000 per kids. Say your taxable income = $120,000 with 3 kids. Your taxable income will be reduced from $120,000 to $118,000. Relief is not significant.
PTR = Parent Tax Rebate. Meaning, if based on your taxable income of $118,000, let's say you need to pay $8,000 income tax but you have $35,000 in your PTR. You pay zero because $8,000 is offset from $35,000. So you will have $27,000 remained in your PTR. Next FY, it will do the same again, pay zero income tax until your PTR is down to zero.
I guess it's clear many complained about raising children is expensive and government not helping enough. It's actually because they never do their homework or they just have not explore enough how much help government is really giving. It is a lot of money actually.
