my just downgraded and still have 5G. also make sure phone not on power saver because it turns off 5G

Yeah I just did what jurong640 suggested, restart can't, took out sim also can't. Power saver off. Are you on Roam Plus or Roam Saver? Not sure if they nerfed my plans.

Singtel recently "upgraded" to 5G+, do you think this applies to the NVMOs as well?

I asked Zym about 5G SA and here is their reply:

ZYM Mobile currently supports 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) network. The 5G Standalone (SA) network is under development and is targeted for release by Q4 2025. When 5G SA is launched, existing subscribers will automatically transition to the 5G SA network at no additional cost, but a physical SIM swap will be required. ZYM Mobile will provide further updates and details about this transition in due course.

And when asked why Singtel already had SA why MVNO like zym no SA yet:

ZYM Mobile operates as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) on Singtel's network, but the rollout of new technologies like 5G Standalone (SA) for MVNOs often follows a different timeline compared to the main network provider. While Singtel has already launched 5G SA for its direct customers, ZYM Mobile is still in the process of developing and preparing to support 5G SA, with a targeted release by Q4 2025.

This phased approach allows ZYM to ensure a smooth transition and proper support for its subscribers, including necessary updates like physical SIM swaps. ZYM will keep customers informed as they get closer to launching 5G SA on their network.

now dont know how they will bill me because plan suddenly changed half way through the month

Sigh, my 5g is gone, I also switched from $10.10 to $7.77. Did you take do extra steps like re-sit sim card? They will pro rate your bill if I'm not wrong. I changed from $10.10 to $$15.10, still had 5g, then to $10.10, then $7.77 no 5g

Tested the speed again. Really improved upload speed of 140mbps peak.

Results Peak Download speeds 1,234 Mbps, Upload speeds 137 Mbps

what phone are you using? I remember many pages ago, someone also encountered same issue when downgrading from 10.10 to 7.7. Took a few days before 5G came back.

Otherwise, now can only troubleshoot like restart, take out sim card and put back in or flight mode on and off

Zym CSO on WhatsApp don't even know stuffs, I asked when are they enabling WiFi Calling, here's their epic reply and I quote:

"No, ZYM Mobile is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that utilizes the Singtel network. It does not offer a separate Wi-Fi service like a dedicated Wi-Fi provider ."

I'm usng Samsung Note 20 Ultra. Thanks for sharing the tips, was just exploring and understand possibly running into removal of benefits.

Just ported my number from simba to zym but I’m unable to make outgoing calls with my iPhone, tried all fixes such as airplane mode/network reset etc.

zym sim works fine in another android phone, tried to see if it’s the “show caller id” setting on iPhone but it’s always spinning so I’ve no way to turn it on.

anyone encountered this before?

I'm on iOS 18 is auto detect the sim enable voLTE. What iOS are you on?
