In the wild, animals have natural preys and competitors for food which keep their population in check.
Now woke ppl tell us cannot cull wild animals that found their way into our habitats.
These wild animals get used to living next to us and eating the abundant food, multiply like nobody's business since got protection, and are now treating our habitats as theirs.
I don't think there were that many otters, boars, monkeys, monitor lizards, crows, pigeons etc living in those forested areas that we cleared in recent years.
We are not being kind by not culling these wild animals that make homes next to ours.
We are playing god creating new species of urban otters, boars, monkeys, monitor lizards etc and that could lead to many problems down the road.
As it is, bigger birds of prey are now commonly sighted and crocodiles have made their way to places they were never seen before, to hunt in areas where these wild animals - whose population in SG boomed during the covid lockdowns and across Johor's industrial development - are settling in and treating as homes.
