Dear all,

I hope every one are clear minded. Apparently there are many retailers and shops closing. There are many business relocating the operations and Jet star is one of those.

In simplicity, Singapore is getting expensive for everyone, including the businesses.

Where do these money flows?

COL is rising, cost of doing business is rising, but where do these money go?

Confidence for the future. More good years ahead... Let us take Singapore forward together.
Thank you.

there never was an edge. The only appeal to companies is Singaporeans work harder than anyone else in the region to make the business viable, because we are the only country that have a mutual interest in helping a company survive.

You will immediately say those Msian and Viets work harder but they are only motivated by what benefits and salary they get. Everything else they can give up. Salary high but company going bankrupt? never mind. Just suck all the money you can from the company until bankrupt, then find job in another company. Boss comment work attitude no good? change company, change department. Salary not competitive? Find another country with better salary.

Singaporeans cannot give up on the company and cannot anyhow destabilize the company because if they do that, they are endangering themselves.

The reason is that their technical ability and language skills are apparently on par with Singaporeans, while their cost is only one-third that of a worker in Singapore.

A Reddit user agreed, saying they once worked at a company where Malaysians comprised 90% of the staff before the company eventually outsourced the roles overseas.

We at edmw hv been talking abt tis for ages. With users sharing experiences of their companies n trends.

With costs soaring in sg. Alot of companies now outsource some depts to other countries n just keep a small office presence in sg. Or totally shift there.

Plus some bosses realised. In sg also employ Malaysians. Higher costs etc. Y not go there n hire them n pay them lower in rm? Save millions annually😂

N the education part. Sg education is rated better n uni rankings r higher. But y then those supposedly from lousier education n lower rankings uni on par with sg workers?

N always say sg no talents. Sg education fail?
Leegime's policy of importing talents bring ruin in the mid to long term. Shirley dat can't be true?

You ask here how many willing to pay as much to hire non local uni / poly grad for same job as local grad, most will hiam them yet their own colleagues and boss are from tunku rahman and uptron.

Moi know panel who didn't want to take non local grad sinkie and wanted to wait till one appeared then manager say need ppl so they rather hire FT than sinkie. Sinkie pwn sinkie haha

It's a trend.

Why do western MNCs move to Singapore and other asian countries in the 1970-1980s? Because we were cheaper then.

Now we are as expensive as western countries. Jobs will be shipped out unless all of us are willing to take 80 percent payout.

Many ppl hv worked with those talents b4. Their verdict is they're mediocre. Just bottom of d barrel. Just in sg to fill in posts n headcounts. N to bleed sg dry B4 they go home.

Interesting perspective.
???? what's wrong? if got something to say, can be more direct. I not so smart to decode your hidden message.

Personally, this is what I faced as a Singaporean. It just simply doesn't make sense to be a bad employee as much as I dislike work in general and don't want to spend any excess effort to earn my salary for living expenses. Most people are stuck on this island and cannot 'go back to kampong' relax until things tide over.

Not sure what you trying to insinuate by calling it 'interesting'.
