Dali vs Lijiang I would probably choose Lijiang if am going again. I feel Dali whole place very old and chaotic

Lijiang old town is also much nicer than Dali Old town although they are selling pretty much the same things. When ya in Lijiang Old Town go climb 万古楼, very nice view.

Almost 60. Retired at about 50yo. Going Yunnan in Dec. If don’t go now may not have the chance in future. Wonder what prep can I make in the meantime.

I also bought tickets then the staff asked me where I from, told me free for Singaporeans after checking my passport and asked me refund the tickets. But not sure the promotion still ongoing bo la, some ASEAN nation promotion IIRC.

At that age, I recommend you get altitude sickness pills, oxygen tank, and a trekking stick.. easier.
