You try ask for e0 carpentry. Outside Id give you at best e2 or e1. Upgrade any material or work needs to top up. Can choose whose laminate, abs to use. Good carpenters or contractors can also tell you better insights on what mechanism or material fail faster.

Toilet for the same budget, you can use the money buy a better toilet bowl, epoxy grout, build niche, etc.

You get full control and you will know better how your pipes or wires are laid.

I don't conceal any pipes for alot easier long term maintenance care. Those id, every photo you see, are all concealed pipings to look nice but are a nightmare to maintain.

For paint jobs, it's much cheaper and so much more reliable to get nippon or whatever own brand team to do it. They are alot more comprehensive. The most difficult part in the end, is actually the painting because not all surface can stick. Those Carousell one 99/100 cannot use and anyhow one. 3 days job an gao dim in 3 hours. The internal coat cannot dry and will cause alot of problems down the road.

All those reputable reno firms, IDs got volumes, that's why they can nego a better price to sub cons, contractors, carpentry firms, electrical and plumbing shops, in turn can pass discount to client or even free items like hob hood or sink or other items.
While home owners doing 1 times jobs only, reno firms is alot of jobs.
Concealed piping, for old hdb cannot be done, for new bto can

Homeowner don't want to pay first. Want job done then pay. But without money contractor unable to pay for worker and materials. Then contractor also die.

But pay contractor lei. See this kind of thing happen. Contactor take money run

Then how lei. Pay first or pay later also got problem
