Since OYK transformed this system.

Clinics knew the public has no choice but to let them chop, and the price went off the roof for the most basic services.

Surely MOH has the data on the average cost of visiting a GP.
Why they don't reveal it to show the actual statistics? :(

Well, Singaporeans have no problem getting concert tickets. Why would they have problem with polyclinics appointments if they believed they are similar?
He's just using concert ticket as an analogy. U r barking up the wrong tree. We should focus on the genuine problem instead. Never mind...looks like your IQ also not very high.

The doctor made it very clear, including an colonoscopy appointment has nothing to do with my appendicitis. He just included it as I'm over 50.

So your 'auto' scope was not really auto per se as it was a follow up after a surgery.

For people who don't have any surgery and need a scope, they have to go polyclinic to get a referral letter if they want to have the subsidised rate.

My mum fell sick the night before, the next morning, she headed to the polyclinic and queued for an hour before opening. Then when the door opens, all rushed in, the staff inside there told her if no appointment cannot see the doctor despite her sick until cannot. They just rejected her outright.

She said those abled bodies who knew how to game the system were there, appointments booked (they somehow knew they will fall sick the next day), most looked fitting fit and were there probably to geng MC. But nobody cared a sheet how she was.

She called me and told me the situation I told her don't waste time go straight to a GP.

Better earn more money and ownself look after ownself family because no one else will care.

I think many edmwers were diagnosed by the private panel of doctors from their work places. Those are considered private patients. I thought everyone knew this?

To be qualified as subsidized patients, go through the sop and get referred. Otherwise, every high paying edmwers will be exploiting our public health care despite they have super insurance coverage from their employers.

It's a necessary screening process so that our precious subsidized healthcare system is put to the best use and not being taken advantage of.

As for why private patients with super insurance coverage wanted to go to public healthcare? Myriad reasons for another time.

50% of population should have GP bills paid by company.

There are stubborn people who prefers to hog on to polyclinic. Cheapos, thus declining others who genuinely need polyclinic help.

See those who use iPhone there will know.

With many getting old and jobless, that's the only place to see doc. Cheap? Yes definitely beats many times seeing gp doc.
It will be even more crowded in the future.
My suggestion is make all polyclinics run 24 by 7.
Taxpayer money?

I am not sure if I agree. Polyclinic in it's essence was created to cater to the POOR, to provide them basic healthcare.

But if even the poor cannot get access to it then something is obviously wrong.
If u are poor will have blue chas.
Then go to GP.

Alot of blue collars, the companies only recognises MCs from govt hospitals or polyclinics. Add to the mass of patients both genuine or gengsters.
