That's not what happened to my mum unfortunately. They asked her to come back at 2pm after she had queued for an hour while having a fever.
The criteria to expedite the queue number for adults is 39 degrees Celsius while for children below 12 years old, its 38 degrees Celsius.Do inform the staff at the self registration kiosks that u are having high fever, giddiness, chest pain etc if u are indeed having such acute symptoms.

To get a early queue number manually, go to the Polyclinic at 0730hrs. To book successfully online, log in to ur health hub at 2145hrs and start booking at 2200hrs as that's when the booking for online starts.

but tbh if you have fever, go see gp?
If you have blue chas card, gp not much diff. especially for elderly with merdeka or pg, the price even cheaper

Worker Party will give u immediate appt?
At least they pushing for rent control

Not simply monitoring, and then later come out to say disappointed that ownself approve $52k monthly rental for clinics

If GP consultation cheaper, less people would need to rely on polyclinics

That's the sop of the Polyclinics. U have to work within their sop if u want to get ur queue expedited or if u want to get a early queue number.

Do anything out of their sop and u are literally banging at the wall, understand?

My mum works part time. Her job requires an MC from govt agencies, GP not accepted. She did go to the GP eventually.

However it is not about my mum but about the fact that many poor elderlies do not know how to book an appointment to get treatment at a polyclinic. They cannot get treatment even when they are really sick.

Not everyone experience the same, Can quote some examples.
Elderly knock on head, thought it's ok and let it be. After a few days became mentally unwell, disoriented . Went to sengkang hospitial and did scan. DR say blood clot, take med and observe first. Then in-between doctors keep changing. Finally a senior consultant came, say no need do anything, let it heal by itself. During the visit to the eldery, can see he randomly got disoriented, sleep walk and etc. Doctors just brushed it aside say no need do ops.

The elderly's daughter went to mount e, within the week the senior dr say just go for ops, the risk is damn low and it doesnt make sense not to do it. Everything resolved and go home within a week, and follow-up scan in 6 and 12 months later.

Another example. Guy 30+,burpling and stomach unwell for weeks. See doctor,dr give some pills and nothing changed. Went polyclinic again, referral for 4 months later at hospital and eat the same meds. The guy dulan went to go private route, within 2 weeks did colonoscopy and endoscopy. Found some gastritis, gave stronger meds and all is good. This example if the guy suay, could be something more serious, the time taken for scan will take at least 6months. Luckily got private insurance, can do everything within 2 weeks.

Another example, an elderly suddenly felt unwell at the heart went to public A&E. Dr did some scan and ct scan, say no problem discharge tell elderly go home as hospitial very full. Elderly still feel uncomfortable, go mount e did more scan and MRI. Found out , got minor stroke, faster ward and treat her. This example if no private insurance, the elderly most likely will get full blown stroke.

Only the rich get speedy treatment is the truth. If you dont have private insuruance, you won't be able to afford all those scan and ward treatment. The diagnosis part is hard as public resources are limited. Public route is good only if your illness is clear cut, discovered and requires immediate attention.
Even clear cut takes very long

Heart attack, need to wait 2-3 months for bypass surgery

Nope, that's not accurate. They can get the queue number manually by going to the Polyclinic.if they want early queue number, they have to get there by 0730hrs if not they might get assigned to later slots but they will still be able to get treated. For those who are critically ill, they will get referred to the triage of the Polyclinic where they will get expedited to see the doctors/referred to the hospitals if they are assessed to be in serious/critical condition.

Lol, if that works we won't have this thread...

Anyway, even if it's true the best you can suggest for a 75 year old elderly is to get there and queue for 2 hours when he/she is sick until cannot.

Is that a joke?

Of course it works else why would I suggest this?

When did I ask a 75 year old to queue for 2 hrs when she/he is seriously sick? U or her family members can go and queue for her at 0730hrs if she is really sick or u can even borrow a wheelchair from the Polyclinic to bring the 75 year old to the Polyclinic if the patient is really that sick.

Depending on the Polyclinic, early morning queue can be fast.

In fact, if u follow my tips for online booking of slots, u can usually get slots.if ur nearest Polyclinic is really that popular, u might want to book for the next nearest Polyclinic.

In health hub, u can nominate urself as ur mom's care giver and u can even book on her behalf though u need to get her a Hp and a contact number and also her sing pass password. Yes, as an illiterate person, u need to do all this things for her initially for u to book on her behalf the next time she needs medical attention.
