Think that's the lane departure assist. I heard of similar, friend tried to avoid and last minute want to change lane without signaling, he could feel the steering pulling him back.
If our cars cost 20k to 30k, then changing a new batt is like buying a new car.
But thanks to arf, coe, etc our cars are more like 200k to 300k so changing a batt is 10% of costs nia.

Thanks, Q5 is top in my current consideration list, not sure if can turn off LDW. Don't want to test it until I'm sure it's the one I want. Good info tho'.(Ice) Audi Q5 the lane assist pull is quite strong, enough to slightly hands off the steering and it still turns on a gentle curve. Bimmers and Merc the tug is not so fierce, again the ICE ones that I tried, never tried their EV.
also waiting for hard core EV haters to come in too...equally scarywaiting for hard core EV edmw-er to come in and start to pick on this
the other EV thread a few days back..got a few defensive ones...scary
It’s only a car… some are taking it more serious than getting a life partner… and ironically arguing over what another persons choice is…also waiting for hard core EV haters to come in too...equally scary
My take on this is, just buy whatever car you want, ICE (Hybrid in future as pure ICE phasing out) or EV.

Who responsible for the batteries?
If car owners bought the car, the others are responsible.
If batteries are swappable, who wants to be responsible for the batteries? Chinese manufacturers do not want to be responsible for their own products. Western manufacturers do not want to be responsible for Chinese products. Insurance do not want to insure Chinese products that's not owned by the owner.
My neighbour just got a xpeng to replace his bmw. It is impressive. For EV I will probably just go with the EV leaders. Which is Tesla or any of the China makes like xpeng, BYD, zeekr. It looks cheap actually, I looked at the EQ series, smaller, and yet pricier and doesn't look nice, was considering the EQC but like you say, many issues/complains, so I also hesitate. The other EV i like is the Q4 or the Sealion7.
Q4 people tell me old tech, Sealion7 people tell me MIC... really so bad meh...
Thought of the Sealion for this reason, the others seems to be unwilling to go deep into EV or their EVs are far from being perfect, just branding, but cars in SG is not like US we unhappy can just swap out or what, so the dilemma is there. My neighbour just got a xpeng to replace his bmw. As a consumer, I dont care whether its EV, ICE or ICE hybrid. I will just look at prices over 10 years and compare cars across the same range.
When I bought my Altis 3 months ago at $138k, how much EV charging cost for BYD Seal also no use because petrol can't cost $40k more over 10 years for me.
E.g. -
Hyundai Avante Hybrid vs Toyota Altis vs BYD Seal
Toyota Harrier vs BYD Sealion II
But ardent EV owners would say they can save that much due to lower maintenance etc etc20-30k is like 7-10y free petrol even at its current price.
Thought EV usually offer 10 years warranty for its battery? Same timeline as COE?
Don't say 6-year old battery is outdated, even a 2-year old EV tech is "outdated" compared to the new modelsto be fair, her 15 points can be summarized as battery tech and charging problems.
Some of it isn’t applicable to SG context and her 6yr old EV battery likely also considered outdated by current standards.
Yup, not just EVs - even for ICE cars, the warranty is not easy to claimHave to check the terms and conditions.
I know of one AD.. the batt has to be quite cui before eligible for change ..
