Travel Camera for Beginner~ Budget about 1k? any recommendation?

Wanted to snap some photo of my kids for memories, so thought of buying a proper camera

I know some will say HP is good enough, but i just tot of getting something that can snap a better quality photo

any camera expert here to recommend? Mainly taking photo not much videoing

didn't own any camera in my entire life hahaha

super newbie, i read liao alot of the term they use i also dunno what it means

For travelling buy one with great optical superzoom say 40x. You will not regret

Sony RX100 lor... been using many years... recently then changed to the newer version... compact and good quality... good for traveling...

i check like a lot is at 2k range =( dunno want to invest so much for something new to me ma

When travelling it's just not possible to go near to a place to shoot every time. So having one with 40x optical zoom will greatly help you shoot from far

if u are juz looking for selfies and people in front, landscape behind a hp is good enough. a mirrorless or dslr will probably be good if u want
1) blur backgrounds, natural one not ai one
2) shoot people moving in low light (clubs/bars, general night time), esp running kids.....
3) long exposures ( smooth water using tripod)
4) use filters (debatable cos can clip them on phones)........
