Was about to post along this line as well....

Last time got staff officer post for him, probably even vet the content.

Now no more staff officer to do it.... he probably finds out the fun and thrill of it at this stage of his life.
Thus, the sudden surge in his posting of his personal adventures out with his grand-children.

I guess that's what life should be... retired liao, spent the remaining time creating fond memories for himself and his families.... experience the life of peasants... and if we are lucky, maybe he can just feedback some of his findings back up and hopefully things can change a bit for the better.
