I thought m1 maxx is ownself initiate the port-in via the m1 maxx app?

I recall I went to a retailer and buy a temp number. After a few days, I then port my spare eight number to m1 maxx.

Maybe you can consider buy a $10 plan from a retailer, then try to port your pre-paid number to m1 maxx. If it doesnt work, at least waste $10 only.

bought and started porting yesterday (mistake, i know). hopefully all will be done by tue/wed.

So after the merger(pending IMDA approval), M1 would still exist in name.......but wonder if maxx plan and its terms still remains the same?

This is a buy over, not merger so Simba have the decision to replace M1 branding with Simba but we will not know how it will eventually turn out I think. It will be interesting to see M1 brand disappear eventually, after all, it is the second oldest telco brand in Singapore.

Shouldn't their brand worth money?

Depends on Simba's decision. Two sides of a coin, if M1 brand still remains, it may overshadow its own brand building. Retaining M1 brand does reduces confusion and hassles but if were to unite into a single brand and being known as 2nd largest telco, it will bring the brand to the next level.

If less competition, then imda should not approve the buying.
Indeed, but IMDA may consider that the present cutthroat competition is too overwhelming that it is time to consolidate the industry, to cool the industry. We may be in the downward cycle in that case. But rest assured, the next intro of another player will be implemented, this saviour will come when 4G will be exiting and it will come in as a solely 5G provider, like Simba who is the 4G provider when came in.
