It’s complicated. I think the teachers and MOE and the school want to discipline the kids but they are constrained by the rules against corporate punishment.

That’s democracy for you :(. I think it the parents who want to do away with corporate punishment and are firmly against it until it’s their kid who gets bullied then want the punishment to be inflicted on the other kid

That is what u will say until ur kid bullied someone and he come back and say papa papa one mean uncle shout at me outside the school…
Well the official way failed? Not like the parent never go through the official way with the school.

The very best action is to teach the girl to stand up for herself

i think the child will suffer more if the parent ends up going to prison because he stood up for the girl and the girl still needs to go to school. She will still be bullied, the bully can say I not only bully u I got ur father into jail, no one will stand up for her (unless the mother also wants to go to jail) and now the child has a convict and future ex con for a father.

which is worse?

girl standing up against boy...

will only trigger the boy's ego

also most girls are weaker physically

this will only work in movies bro. dont fantasize about it

Then teach the kid to fight back. A lot of times I think the kid doesn’t fight back is not because he cannot but because he thinks it’s the wrong thing to do (parents always say ah boy never get into fights u r in school to study)

Giving permission for the kid to stand up and fight back, imho, is better.

Again not true but of cos gather allies la. Or scream and scream and cry out loud in public and say this boy bully me. It’s those who quietly endure the bully then run home to cry who gets the worst bully

I will probably do the same thing, whack the bully but if I end up in jail and lose my job how..

Sometimes rationale thoughts are important because the actions might cause even more problems rather than solving it.

You know nothing's gonna be done about this that will have a satisfying justified ending.

**Long-Term School Bullying and Death Threats—To Everyone Concerned About Student Safety**

I never imagined that one day I would have to seek justice for my daughter in this way.
This is not just about my child—it could happen to any child in any Singaporean family.

### **Background of the Incident**

On **July 24, 2025**, my daughter (9 years old, Primary 3 in a Singapore government school), who has always loved learning, excelled academically, and even received a government scholarship, came home from school emotionally devastated, crying and saying, *“Mom, I don’t want to go to school anymore.”*

After repeated questioning, she finally revealed that for nearly half a year, she had been relentlessly bullied by three boys in her class: they insulted, mocked, shoved her, destroyed her stationery, and erased her homework. She was also repeatedly subjected to racially discriminatory and deeply offensive slurs, including:

- *“******”*
- *“Shut up”*
- *“F*ck you”*
- *“Dumb ass”*
- *“****”*
- *“Qi bai”* (Hokkien for *“prostitute’s child”*)
- *“Stupid”*
- *“Bitch”*
- *“Shut up at your family’s grave”*

The immediate conflict that day (July 24) occurred when my daughter asked her classmates to quiet down in class, and two of them **hit her**.

Not supporting bullying!

But as someone who mixed in neighbourhood sch, survived in ah beng classes & elite classes.

As good conduct/high scorer, muz learn how taichi ah beng attention. Nvr asked them to quiet down for ur good learning environment. They will hate you more when they are already jealous of your score in class.

Parents need to teach their kids abt some survival social skills.
