Yes. Before you enter, you are supposed to que up to write your name in the guest book and also write the amt of the angpow on the next column. Then the recep lady (usually the relative) will write your name on the angpow and then pass to the next lady to open it to verify the amt after you enter. She will then tell you which table to sit.

If you write false amt (write $200 but actually put only $20) on the book, the same lady will walk towards your table and then ask you did you make a mistake in the angpow amt. You will be damn xia suay.
