where is this Bukit India? I like smaller fish for steaming. even 700g already too big, meat texture not as moist and tender as smaller fish.

The fish brought back from jb. No fishy smell at all. Cooked using Hokkaido salmon & kelp shoyu and abit tamari. Not as salty as ipoh and bentong light soy sauce...

It opens on Friday to Sunday morning, behind Bukit Indah Yi Jia seafood or next to Sky View condo .

I think you are right that there is a possibility that Hong Gor will cook for a fee as Hong Gor doesn’t have many fishes to sell at his place.
I doubt Tian Lai will do it as Tian Lai has many fishes to sell. So many in the fish tanks
I recall seeing on their whiteboard a "自带" or something

Same..my mom too..only buys from her fishmongers in chinatown...i think i know which one u talking about who took over from his dad; my mom also buys from them since eons ago.

Freshness and price really no horse run in chinatown..top quality and good price. JB ones cannot match. I teochew so fish is a must for every meal at home.
Now they hire like 3 more bangla. Still cannot achieve the same efficiency. Descale often not as clean also

Ps share the name of stall or stall no can?
I love seafood especially fresh fishes
I do go Chinatown Wet Market often.
There is a stall selling very good scallops.
That won’t shrink in sizes after thawing and cooking
am travelling now - will post once back home the next time I go down with my mom. She has 2 stalls she patronise. They even take orders via WA.

I just came from Chinatown wet market
Bought 2 packets of 1 kg big big scallops which lady boss said loved by singer / song writer Lee Wei Song Bros and Xu Bin. 😂
Lady boss sells beef at a corner stall and her frozen sea food is at another unmanned stall.
Visited a corner stall next to a crab sellers with 3 stalls and same row as the long queue yong tau fu opposite the lifts.
Very young chaps manning the seafood stall saying they always supply to f&b and clients called or WhatsApp to order.
Some of their seafood is from Pontian.

I turned one piece of the salmon fillet selling at Chinatown Wet Market and it is confirmed trout.
I think most sold in Asia is trout. Salmon seems to be hard to come by. I used to buy from a Shops at Eco Botanic Precovid which sold genuine salmon and patronised largely by the Ang Moh community living in jb.
Their beef also super tokong. Unfortunately,
Covid brought its demise.
Haven’t found 1 that can match its quality products to this day.

wild salmon is way more expensive, i think only ang moh will buy. at that price chinese will prefer to get chinese pomfret or mouse grouper or empurau :ROFLMAO:

Sea bass sgd10/kg. Whole fish. Chinatown.

Morning buy, lunch eat. Cooked with ntuc brand fish curry

Today I got one sea bass at special price of S$5.
Boss said last piece and dropped price from S$7.
😂
I usually don’t pay full price for normal seafood.
Only pay more for rare ones like scallops, crabs, lobsters, huge sea prawns ❤️
